> 3 dayI have really enjoyed this program. I am a professional photographer that is used to doing all photo painting like this manually in Photoshop. So, I wondered if would even like this. I definitely like it! It is really an easy program to use and offers many brushes. I have been using it on a Wacom Cintique 21ux and it is fantastic. There were a lot of great effects that were easy to apply. It was extremely easy to learn and I don’t think you would need to be photo editing savvy in order to use it. I would highly recommend. It makes me want to purchase the more feature robust 2015 version. I love that this product is now available for a Mac. For the longest time it was only PC-based. So, this was a huge plus for me!

> 3 dayIf you are looking for a software for pictures and art work Painter essentials from corel is your program. Not only can you do pictures but artists can draw and paint with this program. For 30$ it is worth every penny to have two programs in one.

> 3 dayPainter Essentials 5 is different than 4 and lacks some of the features of 4. Instructions are complicated or nonexistent. It has new features that were not in 4. It is probably worth purchasing and it is very good at turning a photo into a work or art.

Greater than one weekGirlfriend had a few minor issues with installation on her computer but after restarting the process from frustration it installed with little delay. My only complaint is the initial start up process but the program itself works exactly as expected. Good for beginners and intermediate artists.

> 3 dayThis would be a good product to entertain the kids with. Anything above that Ill stick to Photoshop and Krita. Krita is free and Ive been using it for painterly style projects without any issues on a Win10 PC for well over a year now. My personal (Artist) opinion, Krita is a far better product hands down. Many free brushes to download as well.

> 3 dayPainter Essentials 5 simply refuses to launch, even after numerous reboots and reinstalls of the program. It sits in the running processes and eats up a hefty chunk of your processor (40% on average) but never actually DOES anything. Not even a splash screen appears. This is, hands-down, the worst piece of software Ive ever encountered - at least everything else RUNS. For those who are curious about my hardware, Im doing this on a Surface Pro 1 that has proven to be an incredible device for artistic endeavors. Painter failing to run is pretty disappointing.
