Products work very well for its intended use, however I am not certain it works that much better than regular mineral oil...

I am super happy with this stuff. It will not disappoint! I have used it on a few cutting boards, and on the spoon and chopsticks pictured. I have noticed that it helps keep the tips of the chopsticks from getting stains after eating with them, which is a bonus! My wife has commented to me that she likes the feel of our wooden knife handles that I have treated with Walrus Oil too. This feels like it leaves the surface more smooth and protected than other butcher block oils Ive used. Other oils seem to just raise the wood grain which leaves the surface feeling worse than before. But my observation is that this oil actually leaves a nicer surface. Cant say enough good things about it!!

The product was super easy to use. I applied it a couple times before wiping off the majority of the oil. You can tell when the oil is being absorbed into the wood and where to apply more. I left on for 24 hours and it wiped off very easy. Be sure to sand and prep your surface before applying.

Sanded, cleaned then added two coats of this oil to my maple & oak cutting board; it looks and seems in near new condition. Since treatment, my cutting board has not significantly faded in color nor has the oil added unwanted taste to foods touching its surface. I recommend this oil.

I have custom handmade cutting boards and bread boards so oiling is not new to me. But I was looking for a faster drying oil than the one I was using and this oil not only dried in great time, but left my boards looking healthy, in new condition. Highly recommend.

I love this oil for my cutting boards, my chartreuse board, and also I use it for my large metal knife.

The oil went on easy. A little waiting time and wow the wood looks great. I used it on all my cutting boards and wooden spoons. Doesn’t require to be re-coated too many times.

This product was recommended to me by a friend who does wood working! He made his wife a BEAUTIFUL Cutting Board for CHRISTmas and used this Walrus Oil on it! I’m still working on my cutting board and not yet to the oiling point, but this Friend knows what he’s doing (I do not) so I’m taking his valued word for it!!!

So everyone will do things different. Its all a matter of taste. I have used several products and I like this one the best. I feel I get the best results when I apply one coat and let dry over night. Then I hit the wood lightly with some 400 grit sandpaper, sanding by hand with the grain. Wipe clean. Apply a second light coat and dry over night. Then apply the Walrus Wood Wax and buff. Leaves an awesome finish.
