Exo Terra Terrarium Decor Primate Skull

Our Leopard Gecko got a completely new and larger cage for Christmas and he loves it! We decorated his cage in a desert theme and this skull fit in very well. Is is very strong and realistic looking. He likes to climb on top of it and survey his kingdom.

I bought this for a 42g Crested Gecko - to use as a hide. This showed up literally 30 minutes ago and it looks awesome - it’s the perfect overall size however; as few others have mentioned there are some very sharp edges. Especially on the inside of the resin which has a lip that hangs over practically every curve. They show a snake and a bearded dragon on the box cover; though I doubt anything larger than a 30g “baby” bearded dragon could fit through the back hole. I also thought that the crack on the back of the skull would be larger. Of course the sharp angles and the cracked look of the skull gives a cool effect but it is very dangerous and I’m also not sure it’s big enough for a variety of species of lizards. A part of me wanted to just simply return it because I know it’s going to take a fair amount of work before I can put it in my lil buddy’s home and feel comfortable enough that she won’t hurt herself. I actually don’t know if my 42g crested gecko could fit through the whole as it is… So I’m going to be taking quite a bit of time to use a Dremel and open up the back a bit and make sure that every single sharp angle and sharp lip are smooth before I put it in the terrarium. If there were no sharp edges I would have given this five stars but it’s getting a very generous 3 stars. I am including photos that I have not otherwise seen that will hopefully help other potential buyers.

Its a great size, and a great piece, but inside and around the edges its really sharp. Its too sharp, really, for my leopard gecko or most other animals. I spent 30 minutes having to file down the sharp edges around the eyes. There was even a 1/4 inch piece I had to really cut off inside one of the eyes that any lizard crawling through would cut themselves on.

It looks awesome in my tank and I expect my ball python to love it! Just the size I wanted. The only cons would be it is a little smaller so my snake is going to out grow it. The other con would be it is pretty sharp on the inside, I just took some sand paper I had laying around and smoothed it out a bit. Id say if your looking for a cool looking hide and dont mind spending 5 minutes to smooth out the edges its worth the buy.

Looks good in a 40 gallon terrarium great value for the money just be careful and check the inside edges some of them need sanded because they are sharp and they could injure your animal if you’re not careful that being said it is worth the money I’ve seen them for twice the amount at pet stores

Looks awesome. Just slightly smaller than what I wouldve liked. My snake wont be able to enjoy it much longer.
