I used these to create a frame of 4x4s for a 10 x 20 foot deck. They were very easy to use and the end result is very solid with a professional, finished look.

These are really great fasteners! I used them building a pavilion next to my pool and they worked perfectly! I like the star head, never slips. Just wish they werent so darn expensive!

These are EXCELLENT! Ive built my deck with them, well the support portions - all 2x12 and such. These can take the abuse of a 1/2 horse drill and hammer drill, and just pulls the boards together perfectly. Always going to be using these from now on!

I am building a 32 x 32 retaining wall with landscaping timbers to enclose my childrens playset. Found these screws and took a gamble. It may seem strange to get excited about screws...but these are really amazing. In fact, Im ordering another box of them right now. A strong drill bit comes in the box. Even better, no stripping of the screw is possible since the drill bit rests inside the screw very deeply!

Glad I saw reviews of these screws on some woodworking websites and decided to buy them. I used them to build a large workbench (connecting 4x4s and 2x4s)...much easier than traditional hex-head lag screws or carriage bolts Ive used in the past. Though they say no pilot hole is needed, I found they are so aggressive when being drilled in, they can/will split wood if installed too close to the edge. Pilot holes eliminated that problem. Other than that situation, they really dont need pilot holes. They wide head eliminates the need to use washers, saving time and money, yet allows them to be driven flush or even countersunk. Would happily use them again.

Screws do what screws are supposed to do. Hold wood together fine. Really big heads, but not flat underneath so predrilling thin veneer materials is a must. Cons: Did not come with driver bit in either box I bought. No response for over 3 weeks from seller on making that right or not. Now it is past return or claim cutoff. False advertising to say driver included then not provide. ONE star due to the above.

These screws are fantastic. Im building a pergola and was using 3 1/2 inch Pozidrive screws, and since I didnt have a drill bit long enough to drill a 3 1/2 inch pilot hole, the screws would start camming out and stripping once they went in past a few inches. I picked up these structural screws which use a spider drive. They are flawless. Even at 4 1/2 inches, NO cam out issues, WITHOUT pilot holes. Incredible. And the wide flat head works like a washer. Like the box says, these pretty much can replace 3/8 lag screws + washers. Awesome. Flat black color looks very clean too.

I first used these a couple of years ago when I made a raised light fixture box in our kitchen. I was honestly stunned by the holding power hey have. The oversized head is great, no need for a washer. I still drill pilot holes because I feel it is better for the wood to reduce splitting. I have just started building folding workbenches for my garage using these to mount the brackets to the wall studs. Again drilling pilot holes these screws dig in and pull in hard. I have to be careful not to let them bend the bracket as they go in with such force.
