This is a difficult job for me as a first-timer, but the directions (although tiny) and included tools were extremely helpful. There wasn’t any adhesive to fold back the digitizer connector, at least if I understood that correctly. I tore off a piece of the tape that kept it closed originally to keep it folded. Overall, I’m pleased with the purchase, but there are some improvements needed. The instructions could be included online; the website wasn’t up at the time of this writing. My main complaint is that the digitizer is coming up. I now have to buy some tape and reinstall it. It would’ve been nice if take was included or if it was recommended.

This is a GREAT kit. The adhesive is not super strong but I have never ordered a kit that had adhesive as strong as the original, I get around it by using a case and have no problems. I installed this kit according to a you tube video and the first time it took me FOREVER. Easily an hour. I got the whole thing disassembled, replaced, reassembled, and the screen wouldnt come on. You have to unplug the LCD screen to get to the glass screens connector. So I took it back apart to see if the connection was secure, it was, unfortunately, put it back together, nothing. Set it aside and a few months later, started searching on replacement LCD screens, thinking I had fried it.I found one that had a comment unplug battery if LCD isnt recognized, it will force the ipad to recognize the new LCD screen. So I took it back apart (now Ive got it down to about 10 minutes. :) ) and just popped out the battery connector and plugged it back in and the darn thing started right up. I had forgotten to turn off the ipad before I started, maybe if I would have remembered that step, I wouldnt have had to unhook the battery...

Ok, the title is a bit misleading, I actually erroneously ordered the white instead of the black. Probably an option I missed somewhere, but Im not much one to care about the color so I used it anyway. The package came very quickly, well before other Items I ordered days earlier. It was packed in a bubble envelope, but the box was fine as were the contents. I already have tools from several other iPad/iPhone/Macbook mishaps, but this one had the metal chisel and tweezers as well as a bunch of guitar picks. As others have mentioned, removing the old screen and the adhesive residue takes the longest. Mine was pretty cracked from two corner impacts, so removal was slow going and required several passes with the heat gun. Installation was a breeze and touchscreen works beautifully. I just completed the install, so I cant speak to the long term durability of the screen or adhesive, but it seems to be pretty solidly held in place. I also didnt notice any issues with the interior or exterior glass covers leaving residue; the screen looks perfect. It was just an iPad mini 2 that I had been using for a few things, but got tired of pieces of glass catching my fingers and stopped using it because I didnt want to spend over $100 on an item I only use occasionally. But $25 and a bit of my time made it worthwhile. All told, it was about an hour and a half, a good chunk of that was removing the residue from the frame and pounding the corners back into place. Were I not as particular in removing the glue and if the corners were good, it would have taken about 30-45 minutes.

I was skeptical reading the negative reviews but the install was not all that difficult. You have to be very patient and delicate with the process. I used a hairdryer and a microfiber cloth of my own and the rest of the tools came with the screen replacement. I also used a YouTube video over the written instructions it came with. Install took about 30-40min, I think next time it will take half the time. For $20 my iPad is useful again!! I did not have the adhesive issue on the screen previous reviewers had...maybe they fixed this?

I fix things. If you dont, its best to leave this alone and send it to a repair shop. I bought 2 of these, the first to fix my wifes ipad mini 2, the second to fix my daughters. It worked, but took me a full day for each. One thing that is not apparent is the plastic film you need to remove from the gasket in order to seal the new digitizer. Its very difficult to see, but its there and you need to remove it. It would be nice if this company had a youtube video of their own to help you, but you have to rely on other suppliers videos to get the job done. No instructions included and the instructions provided in the ad are minimal. But it works.

It lasted little over one year, then it started acting up, either not responsive or clicking random spots as if one touched the screen when not. 3 stars for lasting one year for the price.

I just completed the repair of my iPad mini2 digitizer screen. all appears to have gone well. It took a couple of hours and required exceptional patience and care. I used a heat gun rather than a blow dryer. I recommend watching several videos on youtube first as the directions provided suggest a full tear-down that may not be required. product was good but be warned, not for most consumers. best of luck.

I purchased this screen replacement for my ipad mini2 hoping to bring my tablet back to its original state before one of my kids broke it (although none of them are willing to fess up who dropped it.) I watched a few YouTube videos and it look fairly easy so I gave it a go. Some hour or so later, I had a brand new looking tablet for a very inexpensive price. It shouldnt take that long but I was having a really hard time separating the old screen. It kept breaking into tinier pieces and tiny glass shards kept flying everywhere plus I was being extra careful not to breakthe LCD screen when I got to it. The first 2 pictures are the before...obviously! And the second 2 are after. The last picture shows a teeny tiny gap between the edge of the screen and the frame. Thats because the adhesive that comes attached to the screen is not that great and pulls apart on the sides only. If I had to do it again, I would buy additional adhesive strips to put down. I am not concerned because I am planning on putting a hefty case on now that will push/hold down the screen. Other than that, I think it is a great product and I would definitely buy it again!
