This is a great wrist or equipment worn tracking system. It has never failed and I have used it in some rough conditions. It has survived kayaking and biking and just trail hiking and hunting. The ability to have it work with NVG is a plus when working it low lighting but I’m not sure how much non military/LEO will benefit from that feature but glad they have it for anyone to use if they want. It is rugged, boots up fast, and accurate so it is my opinion that if you need those qualities then this is the tool for you

This is possibly a useful hiking tool. But I never saw that. After multiple attempts to have it display some simple hiking parameters, I am still frustrated by it.

Esta bueno, tiene buenos reviews en gral, pero se siente un GPS de hace 20 años. Pantalla baja resolución, monocromática, creo q es para q ya fuera color, y buena resolución. Y no viene con mica protectora de pantalla. Obvio q si lo usas seguido, compra las Amazon Basics AAA recargables al comprar la unidad.

Anzitutto non è un navigatore, cioè non mostra mappe e percorsi (non è il suo mestiere); e chi ha bisogno di un rilevatore di posizione (ecco il suo vero nome) serio, professionale e affidabile, tipo militari-soccorso-protezione civile ecc è meglio che si orienti altrove: il Foretrex 601 è un aggeggino civile e cinesissimo, non sopravviverebbe 2 giorni in un contesto duro. Ma non è quello il suo scopo: è creato per lescursionista, lappassionato, che lo usa un pomeriggio alla settimana, e per quello va detto che il suo lavoro lo fa: le informazioni essenziali le da, è abbastanza preciso, abbastanza veloce, e sebbene per usarlo sia necessario saperci fare con carte e bussole, per le quali sostituisce il vecchio coordinatometro (che comunque è sempre meglio portarsi dietro), in effetti rende la vita più semplice in unescursione topografica. Morale: vale quel che costa. Rilevatori seri e professionali sono unaltra cosa ma costano anche molto di più. Attenzione: non è affatto a tenuta stagna (cè scritto MIL-STD 810 ma fatevi una risata) perciò se piove, Domopak! E appena potete, procuratevi una custodia da polso (o pettorale) di quelle tattiche (si trovano anche sul web) perché è piuttosto delicato e il cinturino in dotazione è ridicolo. Buon divertimento!
