Garmin Elastic strap for Heart Rate Monitor replacement, Standard Packaging

My other Garmin spandex strap I use with my old 305 forerunner had stretched out and I needed a replacement. Adjustable, fits great and a nice price.

Perfect. Its an exact replacement for my old one. I think the Ant+ heart rate monitors are far better than all the bluetooth ones out there now...mostly because they are smaller and the batteries last forever. Anyway, this strap made my HRM just like new again!

This is my third strap in about a dozen years. The elastic strap slowly stretches longer over time.

Life sucks when your strap gives out. My old strap resulted in hear rate readings taken from my ankles. Receiving a new strap is like heaven.

This Heart Rate Monitor is great and much more reliable than Garmins newer Soft Strap (P/N: HRM2-SS). I have had nothing but trouble with the Soft Strap: readings erratically ramping up, then dropping way down, the cutting in and out, etc. But, this heart rate monitor is more durable and consistent. Additionally, the battery is much easier to change out, as with the Soft Strap you have to remove 4 small screws to do so: you have to have a very small Phillips head screw driver, and if youre not careful you could easily lose one of the tiny screws. I just dont understand why Garmin had to change to this type of battery compartment, as it is a step backwards in design.

After 4 years of using my garmin 305, my HRM strap just wouldnt stay put. It would move often and within a few minutes, always ended up on my abdomen. I looked at the strap and it was as curly as bacon, and not as tasty. There was no elasticity left! I ordered a new strap and my HRM was back in business. It was very easy to put the new strap on and comparing the new strap to the old, it was obvious that I needed a replacement. And kudos to garmin for keeping the expensive HRM separate from the elastic strap, making it relatively inexpensive to replace the strap. My only dissapointment with the product is that it does indeed wear out and need to be replaced. I learned that I got a bit more time out of my strap than most, but it would be nice to have a superior product which lasts longer.

Better than new style strap in my opinion. I do not have problems with this style strap rubbing my skin like the premium strap does. This is the one Ill use for my upcoming full marathon.
