Genie GSTB-R STB-BL Replacement Safety Beams, Black, 2 Pack, Black, one size (GSTB-R)

We have had the safety beams ever since we moved in and of course we kicked one once and basically destroyed it. I ended out fixing it by soldering the wires to the PCB but it finally broke 2 days ago and wouldnt come back on no matter what I did. So I had to override the sensor to get the door down and couldnt close it from my car. I ended out ordering these as it says works with any model which is not true. They are only designed to work with 1993-current garage door openers. I got lucky but the instructions that are provided dont work for my opener. I have the old style 2 pin plug in where the instructions are for the screw type. Ended out just splicing the wire and all is fine at least for now. Only took me about an hour to install. Pros: Easy to install Work well Cheaper than other replacements I found for the old square ones Cons: Kit doesnt include wire(had to go buy some which added another $7) Doesnt work for all openers only 1993+

Genie GSTB-R STB-BL Replacement Safety Beams proved easy to install. The hard part was diagnosing the problem, which I was able to do with videos posted online.

Very easy to install. Don’t even need the instructions if your genie already has the wiring installed. Basically unscrew and remove wires and screw in the exact same spot with the wires connected. Mine only had 2 wires and it did not matter where either wire went on the new sensor. This replace my old ones that were damaged to sunlight. 5/5.

Im sure these sensors are fine, but dont be fooled by the picture (as other reviewers have mentioned). They are not square and will not fit existing brackets for the square sensors.
