Good value for money

I have tried most flavors of Gu over the past 7 years. I really like many of their varieties and can tolerate almost any flavor. However, once they introduced this salted caramel version, it instantly became my favorite! It truly tastes like a melted version of salted caramels! I was thrilled when GU decided to make it available year-round rather than just one of their seasonal flavors. A year later, its still my favorite!

Been using clif shots and thought Id try these out as they seem like they might have a better balance of items. The Gu tastes odd, definitely not of vanilla. Might try another type, but Clif have all tasted better.

These things taste like plastic and the box I had came with a two or three that didnt seal properly from the factory and had some GU leaking out. Other than that, theyre pretty good. I used them on 2 marathons and quite a few training runs. However, theres something about them that didnt seem quite right. Maybe they were quality rejects? Others Ive had just had more real caramel taste.

Im sure part of it is psychological, but I always take it before I work out. Whether it is a physical or mental boost, it seems to help me get going.

A few months ago I originally purchased the strawberry banana flavor. I personally though the taste was awful and the texture was so thick it was disgusting. I couldnt even swallow it straight out of the package, I had to chew on it and swish it around my mouth with water and then force it down my throat. I let one of my friends try it and we had to stop the workout because the taste made him sick. However, the Vanilla flavor does NOT have any of those problems. The flavor is great and you can really taste the vanilla flavor. One of my friends thought it was a little on the sweet side but I love it. It is also a lot thinner, I can easily stick it in my mouth and gulp it down without wasting any time. Gu is good stuff, I can feel the difference on longer rides and it definitely helps me maintain my level of performance.

Great product

This is the best flavor! I have tried every other flavor I could find, and this is the only one that I like the taste of and thats not too sweet for me. There is some caffeine in it, but not enough to upset my bowels, and I am VERY sensitive to caffeine (the GU Roctane has too much caffeine for me). Also, I have Ulcerative Colitis and this has not caused/worsened any flare ups.

Ive tried many different gels, chews, etc, and Gu is my favorite by far. Many of the other energy gels taste like chemicals and leave a terrible, acidic feeling in my stomach, but Ive had great luck with Gu. The chocolate outrage Gu tastes like chocolate frosting, so good! I thought that Chocolate outrage would always be my number one, until I tried the salted caramel. Wow, it really does taste like salted caramel. It tastes real, not chemical like. Its easy to squeeze into your mouth, provides a quick pick me up, doesnt upset my stomach, and tastes great. Honestly, I piloted this on a 15 mile run, and just the delicious taste alone was enough to make me feel energized! What more could I ask for? Thanks Gu!
