This starter assembly is a direct replacement for post-2014 Hitachi RB24EAP blowers, with the alternative part # being 6600406. To check what year your RB24EAP was manufactured in, look at the serial number on the outside of the assembly. The 3rd digit is the year of manufacturing. So if your serial is P264023, the 6 is the year, so 2016. If your blower was made after August 2014, this is the correct assembly for your blower. If it was made before August 2014, then you need to look for part #6696572.

I put this on last year in the middle of summer and this spring the rope has already snapped, so not even a full year of use, more like 2-3 months tops once you take out the winter storage months.

If you have a Hitachi blower made after Aug 2014, this is the part you need. Fixed for a friend of mine; part fitted perfectly and worked great, seems well made. This is my fourth pull start assembly for that stupid Hitachi leaf blower. Pay attention to the direction you pull the cord or it will wear and snap against the black plastic housing. If this one fails there will be no 5th purchase, Ill leave the whole thing at the curb.
