We recently bought a new house and within a couple of months the disposal went out. It was this exact brand but difficult to tell how old it was, but it worked great right up until it suddenly didnt. The motor would turn on but the disposal was not active. We went with the same brand as a replacement since its a plug-in model and that would be the easiest for us to use. We had it installed in under 5 minutes. It fit into the sink attachment of the old disposal so that saved some time and effort without having to replace the sink rings and mounting brackets.

Installation was a breeze after watching video on insinkerator website.

Let me say, Im not much of a handyman. Also my old broken disposal used a wall socket, so no need to hard wire. I choose this unit, because of other reviews that said it fit perfectly where their old one was. No need to change the existing PVC pipes, and thats what I found to be the case with my setup. I used a small hammer, taped the flange where it meets up with the drain, unplugged it and unscrewed the 2 bolts that held it to the PVC pipe and let it drop. The unit was light enough for me to hold it up against the drain, and I taped the flange the opposite way, replaced the 2 bolts and plugged it in. A hammer, a screwdriver and a ratchet is all it took. No leaks, quiet motor, NO PROBLEMS. If I can do it so can you, save the $150 to have a pro do it, its too simple. Take care!

dislike the noise level liked the ease of which i installed didnt use mfg instructions bu went to youtube and found same model with a great step by step instruction from a non mfg person but i am told that the larger 3/4 hp is alot quiter i may just buy it because the price is very reasonable

I am not a plumber by any means. My son installed this replacement garbage disposal in about 15 minutes, and hes no plumber either! Easy to follow instructions.
