InSinkErator Garbage Disposal with Power Cord, Badger 5, Standard Series, 1/2 HP Continuous Feed, Black

Bought as a replacement, and as such the installation was a snap (its more involved if its a new installation). Removed old and installed new in less than an hour, used a stack of books for support to get it close then the turning ramp-up design did the rest. I rarely say this these days but I was impressed with the engineering that went into the mounting design, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was.

New unit replaced the old unit without any changes to the plumbing. Came with a power cord for easy installation.

First time replaced the disposer by myself, still spend an hour finishing the installation after watching the youtube video. Its very good, the noise is lower than the old one.

My son, who does not have patience, installed this himself. If he can do this, so can you. Quiet, easy to follow instructions. 10/10 hope I dont have to buy it again for another 10 years.

Original unit only lasted 6 years before leaking. Removed and opened it to find exact same failure as many YouTube videos showing exactly how they all fail. They are made of steel that rust. Considering how they are always wet, these units rust badly and develop holes on the motor cover causing a leak. Is it safe to have water drip on the 120V electric motor? I suspect they use rusty steel on purpose so you would have to replace them every few years. Have you heard of stainless steel? Even a plastic cover would be better than a thin raw steel cover. Thanks to Amazon, a replacement unit arrived the same day. If you have time to do some research, look for a brand that uses stainless steel. Regular steel will rust out in few years - by design.

Noise level is off the chart. Very loud. Unit performs great & it’s a good value but not if your looking for a quiet unit.

I purchased this on a Thursday it arrived early on the Saturday morning..didnt want to call a plumber to install...I read the review from the disabled gentleman who had left some great instructions about installation of this garbage disposal. I looked at some You Tube videos on how to take off old disposal and how to install...I was to so happy to be able to install this garbage disposal myself. Running great ..very happy...

Our garbage disposal started rusting through after 18 years. We wanted the same brand, model, speed, etc. We found one on Amazon and ordered it and after we ordered it we found out it wouldnt be shipped for a month or two. That was disappointing so we kept looking on Amazon and found the exact same one, a few bucks cheaper and able to deliver in 2 days! So we canceled the first order and ordered this second one. Our son is a plumber and we had him do the install so I cant say how easy it would be to install. Im happy with it.
