If you can get this on sale and pair it with the gigabyte z590 UD, its a great combo.

I got this processor in other computers and it’s fast and reliable so I bought another one for a new computer. No regrets.

I chose this over the AMD 5800X or the newer Intel 11700K because I wanted to save a little money. At the time, the 5800X and the 11700k where around $400. I paid $290 dollars for this CPU. And at 4K I would have gotten same performance out of this processor as either the 5800X or 11700K. If I was going to be doing a lot of other tasks besides gaming I probably would have gone with the 5800X but since this was primarily for Gaming, I wanted to save a few dollars. It is 2021 and I didnt really feel like waiting for Intel 12th Gen Alder Lake or AMD Zen 4 so I decided to build a new system at the beginning of August. I am missing out on PCI-e 4.0 support but for GPU performance, in the past I have seen that PCI-e bandwidth has little bearing on GPU performance. So the only thing I missing is support for faster SSDs. But I went with the Samsung 970 Evo Plus, which is the fastest PCI-e 3.0 SSD you can get and I am very impressed with the performance. Down the line in 2022 or beyond, if I really feel like I need to have a PCI-e 4.0 SSD, then I will upgrade to an 11th Gen processor and sell this 10th Gen. I paired this CPU with a Z590 motherboard, so the upgrade path is there. But I will only do so when the 11700K is below $300. I like the fact that the 10700K has faster clocks and in gaming that makes all the difference. So for right now, I am happy with my purchase and performance. PCI-e 4.0 support wasnt on the top of my priorities list but saving a few bucks was, so I am glad I was able to get a fast 8 core processor for under $300. At that price I would definitely recommend this CPU to anyone.

This thing is a beast, runs any game or program or both at the same time. It does run a little hot but with a decent AIO or Air Cooler, it should be fine. Im not sure if its better than the 5600x for gaming but I do a LOT more with my PC as a Youtube content creator, programmer, and avid CAD program user. I can say this thing eats everything I throw at it. The main difference for me was the price. I at the time of my purchase the 10700KF was $260, the 5600x was $399, Kind of a no-brainer. Cant say enough about this CPU. 10/10.
