Its great. I use it for a Roon ROCK music device. Works like a charm, but boy the BIOS settings I needed to use to get it to boot from a USB and update the BIOS were a TOTAL pain. Legacy boot, yipes. But this is a solid machine - would happily make it my desktop - very powerful, chassis is a delight.

Finally figured out how to install the solid state drive and memory. Intels online support with bios and driver downloads is excellent. I think it will be an excellent replacement for my 5-year-old 5i3 NUC. YouTube is also a huge resource.

Big disappointment with this one; cannot even get to the BIOS.

The full-sized SD card slot is non-functionally intermittent. I would have rather they stayed with the microSD slot.

Unit booted one time and then failed to boot up or even POST (Post On Self Test). Amazon could not provide a replacement so I am waiting on a refund. After I receive the refund I will likely repurchase due to Amazon having this item in stock even though Amazon could not send a replacement.

When installing Linux Mint 19.3 on this I ran into one issue, networking did not work. The kernal included with 19.3 does not support Ethernet, either with a cable or WiFi. It turned out there is a more recent kernal available for download. Amazon will not let me post the links in this review, but the solution is searchable on the Linux Mint forum with instructions on how to easily update the kernal.

I really wanted to love this NUC - its small, powerful, has all the necessary connections.. But it has a problem which taints all the benefits. Once the NUC turns off the monitor when idle, half the times it never turns it back on when you wake it up. I can see that the NUC woke up as it starts blinking the lights, but monitor never comes back to life. Ive tried two different monitors, both never had this issue before, and its pretty consistent on both. There is no pattern - sometimes it can sleep for hours and then turn on, and sometimes it just turned off and you try to wake it, and it wakes but never turns the monitor back on. Sadly, I will have to return it.

I bought this NUC to run audio software called Roon. It is working perfectly. It was easy to assemble and configure. It runs cool.
