Greater than one weekFinally figured out how to install the solid state drive and memory. Intels online support with bios and driver downloads is excellent. I think it will be an excellent replacement for my 5-year-old 5i3 NUC. YouTube is also a huge resource.

Greater than one weekThis nuc is awesome. I bought it to replace a functioning macmini that was not performing as fast as I needed. I was tired of apples immoral lock-in practices and decided to go back to building my own system that supports running Linux. The hardware is great. I7 CPU is very fast along with all the other attached module. WIFI bluetooth etc... I am running 3 displays with no problems. I maxed out the nuc to the fullest which is 64GB of ram and I was still under $1k with hard-drive + ram. Very great value for the money. I will be buying nucs as my main computer moving forward. The form factor is perfect for my desk. Small but packs tons of power + speed

> 3 dayThe full-sized SD card slot is non-functionally intermittent. I would have rather they stayed with the microSD slot.

> 3 dayThe unit is smaller than I expected which is good. Initially it won’t enter the boot menu when F10 was pressed. Took me several trials to get it enter the boot menu but I don’t know if this was an isolated case or not. Once the Roon core is installed, it has run without any problem.

> 3 dayThis was a barebones kit. I got my own RAM and SSD, everything went together fine and the NUC even took Linux without a headache. Just make sure that you update your BIOS before trying to install ANYTHING, even Windows. I had the memory, storage, and OS installed in less than 45 minutes and have had zero issues with anything.

> 3 dayUnit booted one time and then failed to boot up or even POST (Post On Self Test). Amazon could not provide a replacement so I am waiting on a refund. After I receive the refund I will likely repurchase due to Amazon having this item in stock even though Amazon could not send a replacement.

10-04-2025It took quite a while for me to figure out all the hoops I had to jump through to get a Pop OS live USB stick to boot with the NUC 10. It definitely will not work for Linux live USB sticks out of the box. I guess it is fair enough, since they mainly advertise support for Windows. But due to the poorly designed UI in the BIOS setup, it was a pain the get the settings all just right to allow the Linux Pop OS USB stick to boot. I simply could not get it to boot at all in UEFI mode, even thought the USB stick was set up with a GPT and UEFI boot. I tried Linux Mint as well - no dice. There was nothing wrong with my USB drives - they booted fine in other computers.

12-04-2025When installing Linux Mint 19.3 on this I ran into one issue, networking did not work. The kernal included with 19.3 does not support Ethernet, either with a cable or WiFi. It turned out there is a more recent kernal available for download. Amazon will not let me post the links in this review, but the solution is searchable on the Linux Mint forum with instructions on how to easily update the kernal.
