The full-sized SD card slot is non-functionally intermittent. I would have rather they stayed with the microSD slot.

I called both companies tech support about the hard drive light staying on constantly. The system loaded fine and ran fine but the hard drive light stays on...constantly. Crucials response was the system loaded fine with no errors after running their drive check software so it must be the others hardware. I switched out the Crucial drive with a Samsung and the light works correctly, which I told Crucial this when I called them but that didnt seem to make much of a difference to them. I tried the same Crucial drive/s in a NUC8i3BEH1 with the same result. So even though Intel didnt have a fix, it isnt their fault really, I will continue to buy them though I was a little disappointed with the support but these are trying times. The NUC10i7FNH1 is very very fast. Oh and I had updated the BIOS on both NUCs but still no happy ending.

Roon music server was successful, but modification of the bios to refactor boot was tough work like as maze.

UPDATE 1/3/2022: This machine seems to have developed problems starting up after being off overnight. If I re-try the startup, it works, and then there are no errors for the rest of the day. I suspect issues with the CMOS battery. Intel support for individuals/hobbyists is terribly lacking; I want to talk to someone but I cant find a phone number. Knocked off 2 stars because of this, and the next problem.

This nuc is awesome. I bought it to replace a functioning macmini that was not performing as fast as I needed. I was tired of apples immoral lock-in practices and decided to go back to building my own system that supports running Linux. The hardware is great. I7 CPU is very fast along with all the other attached module. WIFI bluetooth etc... I am running 3 displays with no problems. I maxed out the nuc to the fullest which is 64GB of ram and I was still under $1k with hard-drive + ram. Very great value for the money. I will be buying nucs as my main computer moving forward. The form factor is perfect for my desk. Small but packs tons of power + speed

The unit is smaller than I expected which is good. Initially it won’t enter the boot menu when F10 was pressed. Took me several trials to get it enter the boot menu but I don’t know if this was an isolated case or not. Once the Roon core is installed, it has run without any problem.

This tiny unit is really amazing, barebone buy is the best option for person who knows how to build one by watching many videos available on social media. one important thing to remember is to download all drivers from intel support page for this unit as its barebones no drivers are installed, so on first boot you will not have Bluetooth, Audio or Wifi capabilities even they are activated in BIOS. Once you do install all driver this little machine is fast quiet and just amazing.

Amazon was good about a full refund after the first one broke a few weeks after the return window had expired. What broke was the bios... it became unable to boot. I couldn’t even get to the bios menu of F2.

Ordered this to set up in the garage to run my laser. Will work great for a garage computer. However, the Amazon photos are deceptive & misleading. I specifically picked this one thinking it had an audio port as shown in the production info in every picture of the unit. The picture I shared shows the picture from the Amazon product link & the top picture shows what I received. Unfortunately, the supplier will not accept returns if opened. Given all the pictures for everyone of the listing for this same model show the audio jack Im now sure I would get the correct one of I tried again. I feel deceived.
