iolo - System Mechanic Pro, Computer Cleaner for Windows, Blocks Viruses and Spyware, Restores System Speed, Software License

I have been using System Mechanic for 10 years, and it has been pretty good. Recently Iolo has become update-happy (it did two in quick succession today, each time finding problems that were missed earlier - or pretending to). It tells me I have 4 cores in the CPU (LiveBoost, Realtime Status) but Intel specifies that the processor has only 2 cores. 4 threads but 2 cores. I believe Intel. This does not enhance my confidence in System Mechanic. If it cannot accurately detect the CPU, what else is it missing?

After reading the reviews on System Mechanic Professional, I wanted to try it for myself. I was getting so many error messages on my computer. I dowloaded sytem mechanic and was very impressed at how fast it went to work. I can now get on my computer and actually work.

I could not use the CD that s was in their for some reason or other I did have a CD ROM so I dont know why it didnt want to down low so the only way I got in to them I had to use the website they adjusted to used and put in the code in ...

system mechanic 12 is nearly identical to professional but with a few more extras like antivirus and of course the unlimited pc install rights make this a good home systems software.

perfect and exactly what I expected! Works on several PCs and this is what I needed. It keeps my systems running smoothly

I do not normally bother writing reviews about products. If they dont work or customer service is poor I just cancel and never buy them again. IOLO has pissed me off enough to actually spend the time to give them a negative review. I strongly recommend avoidance of any and all IOLO products and services. IOLO is extremely aggressive in their marketing and up selling efforts. When I attempted to renew my one year subscription I had a very difficult time getting the deal they were promising me. Every time I contacted customer service I was on hold for an extended period of time and had to argue with the customer service rep to stop trying to upsell me. A month after I renewed I received an email indicating I had signed up for their tech support service which I did not want. There was no online option to cancel so I had to go through customer service and again argue with them to cancel the order they generated and stop the upsell script. Regardless of the marginally effectiveness of their product I will not be renewing with IOLO ever again.

Working great on all (4) computers that I installed it on.
