> 3 dayA few welcome changes this time around - a better back pad, a dedicated laptop sleeve in the rear compartment, a sturdier water resistant floor. The fabrics, zippers, and construction look to be as durable as before. Edit 2/09/23: The older models largest outside compartment had a double-slide zipper. Not a biggie, but I miss that on the new one.

> 3 dayMy kid loves this backpack. It is durable and has a ton of pockets. Zippers are of great quality too. The only thing we would change is: it would be great if backpack manufacturers would make one of the pockets an insulated pocket so it could be used in place of a lunch bag.

Greater than one weekWhen I try to zip open any section of the backpack, it gets caught, even when closing it. As a high school student who only has 3 minutes to get to your next class I am worried this will make me late.

> 3 dayI bought this pack for my soon to be 4th grader. Im confident that hell finally be able to carry everything he needs in his backpack because this baby is loaded with pockets and tons of space. I finally bought him a nice JanSport because Ive been using my old JanSport since 1995 and its held up amazing, I could probably get another 30 years out of it. This new one is nicer in the sense that its lined and has the nice padded back so things dont poke into your back. My big con is that the leather doesnt feel like the old quality. I dont feel like it will hold up as well. I hope Im wrong and it will actually wear in nicely. If it the leather wears in without cracking, flaking, or holes after the school year Ill be sure to come back and upgrade my review to 5 stars.

> 3 dayThe kid turned 13 and decided that his (still almost like new) LLBean shark-patterned backpack was too babyish. So he got this boring grey backpack, as it is suitably mature for a very-grown-up 13YO. Good capacity. Im unsure of whether the Jansport durability is as great as it was 30 years ago when I was in college, but so far its good.

Greater than one weekPerfect school backpack. Roomy inside, enough space for the books. A separate pocket where notebooks can be carried. Enough space for a big lunchbox. The water botlle pocket is very durable.

> 3 dayIve always recognized the JanSport backpacks as good quality because they are strong, cary heavy books well and repel the water well too. I bought this one here to replace the one that Ive been using since my senior year in high school back in 93 which literally looked worn out and faded from its original navy blue color but still carried books well. The difference in this back pack to the one from 93 is that it has many more extra bags or spaces which I use for my 13 laptop and its power cord, a small speaker, small first aid kit, my reading and sun glasses, small note pads and many pens and markers. Ive only had it for four months but think it will last for years like the one from 1993.
