Greater than one weekBefore owning this one, I had the Fugoo XL that I paid $329 for. There is no comparison. I had to adjust the equalizer on my Spotify account to turn the bass down just enough to where it wouldnt distort. I have this in my house now. At 50% volume, its loud enough to hear inside the entire house. The bass is excellent and doesnt sound too sharp like a sealed box. It sounds more like a ported box for those that know the difference. I also own a Bazooka G2 Party Bar, the 36 model. The JBL Boombox sounds better. The Party Bar does not have the same bass output as the JBL.

> 3 dayI just got this to replace my pulse 2, and it’s so much louder. Honestly though, the difference in audio quality isn’t that big but this big boombox 2 definitely has a lot more bass. Just got it and everything seems to work perfectly, also the pairing is really fast which I appreciate and don’t really have that much to say otherwise than that. Also, the audio doesn’t loud as nice at a low volume so I would recommend using this speaker in a large environment, definitely overkill for what I use these speakers for, but you never know when the extra audio/bass might come in handy.

> 3 dayIt’s good but don’t expect anything great I am overall happy with the purchase but wish it had a little bit more bump some songs sound better than others because of the volumes they used to make the songs overall it’s decent also when it’s dead it doesn’t like to play music at max volume even plugged in must charge it before using it it cuts out when it’s low on battery and charging at the same time

18-04-2025Overall it’s a good speaker but was disappointed given all the hype. My JBL flip 5 blew my mind so I figured their boom box would do the same. The bass is nothing to brag about (in my opinion) and the sound output seems comparable @75% volume to the flip 5 @100% volume.

> 3 dayI liked this speaker a lot the only thing was the bass sometimes would drown out the the music when in certain areas like a living room or bedroom but for the most part this speaker is very good but I would of liked full 360 sound

> 3 dayBack in the heyday of boomboxes, the 2 main home speaker companies for when you wanted it LOUD were JBL & Cerwin Vega. This boombox lives up to the legendary JBL name. I put it through it’s paces indoors with a iPod touch on Bluetooth shuffle play. The ensuing listening session included assorted genres ranging from classic rock, Latin, Jazz , Metal, Country and Rap and Classical . The JBL boombox 2 did not miss a beat, kicking out clear clean music that can get really loud . I never turned volume past 30% in my home office and that was pretty loud. The bass response was very strong and clean but not to detriment of vocals or instrumentation. Soundstage and Stereo imaging was impressive for 13 lbs unit.

> 3 dayDon’t let the price scare you away, I bought this for a friends beach weekend with multiple boats. I have a couple of JBL Flip 5 speakers as well and when they are all synced it’s amazing to have surround sound. The sound quality of the boom box 2 is clear, clean base and the music stays clear at maximum volume… not that you ever will need maximum volume!
