Ka-Bar lives up to their name and reputation with this knife. Solid construction and the carbon steel alloy of the blade holds its edge well. The blade runs all the way to the butt of the handle so there is no chance of it coming loose. I bought these for my groomsmen and they all love them. If youre expecting it to be razor sharp out of the box you might be disappointed, but 10 minutes with a ceramic and it will be as sharp as you could possibly want it. Ive seen too many reviewers complaining that it wasnt razor sharp right out of the box... grow a pair, put on your do-it-yourself pants, and sharpen it if its not up to your stringent specifications. The hardened rubber grip works great in wet conditions and is more comfortable than the stacked leather models. It wont rot either like leather will over time. A great knife I plan on using for a long while. The kydex sheath is well designed too. It holds tight even without the retainer strap fastened. Easy enough to attach to a backpack strap or wear on your belt.

The attached image shows the blade used once, in Finland cutting few 1/8 birch branches. I own a pretty nice collection of knives and frankly, this is substandard. It will not hold a decent edge under even easy use. hard to believe this is what US troops have to deal with. The sheath is very well made, as well as general construction. As a reference, there is a picture of a silver capped special edition knife that costed about the same and performed the same duties, with no visible effects.

This thing isnt meant to be chucked at logs or cut logs or anything to do with logs, it was created with an anti-sentry agenda and that is what it should be reserved for: self-defense. It has the serration so that is handy and kind of cool, but at the end of the day this knife is a drop-point assailant-taker-outer. Pretty gnarly looking, not a work of art. Should honestly be more like $25 so thats why it got a 4/5. But very handy for the possible thats not a knife, this is a knife type situations. The sheath gets a 5/5 though. It would be nice to have a bolt holding the blade in the handle instead of a pin...with that in mind no logs! And who would widdle with this anyways? In my opinion it should be reserved for self defense and survival situations...but a parang would be better for survival anyways, and cheaper. Also, shaved a bit of my arm hair off with it no trouble right outta the Ka-Bar box. They should rename this knife Assailant-Taker-Outer. Good day to you.

Great Knife. Sturdy and sharp. The sheath works great. I would recommend it to all hunters or general hardcore men. I mean the Marines used piratically the same thing... what else needs to be said?

What can be said about this knife that hasnt already been said? This knife is a doozy. The weight is fantastic - very well balanced. The grip is comfortable and the knife is full-tang so you know its not going to break off at the handle under stress etc. If youre looking for a quality knife with a lot of history behind it, look no further.

This thing is beautiful. I do not know anything about knives, but I was extremely pleased with this guy and can only imagine the Bear im gonna take down next time im face to face with a Grizz(completely kidding). All seriousness, I wanted a good fixed blade, and this thing is worth its weight in gold. Pineapple Gold.

The knife is outstanding. Everything I want for my upcoming thru on the Appalachian Trail. The sheath? Well with the retention in the sheath itself, that is more than enough to lock the knife in place. I modified my sheath a bit by cutting most of the top portion off. I did this for several reasons: 1. I can grasp the knife handle solid and remove easily 2. I want to wear as a horizontal sheath on my back as well by adding police belt keepers to the sheath and attaching to my belt 3. Using the belt sheath is cumbersome and not in anyway efficient especially when hiking. 4. I am only out $14 if I decide I dont like what Ive made.

I absolutely love this knife it is perfectly balanced light weight, heavy duty, and comes sharpened. The handle of the knife is absolutely amazing to hold and has an ergonomic feel that fits into your hand opposed to a grip that is just a circle. The sheath that comes with it is also pure quality. On the blade of the knife it has the location where it was made (Olean New York) and on the other side in big letters USA,1211. It is full Tang with a metal pommel on the bottom which is great for survival. This knife is better than any knife I have ever owned. I have two favorite knife companys now which is SOG and Ka-Bar which both make amazing knives.
