I got this knife for my husband for our anniversary. He loved it!! Weve been married for 28 years and I was running out of ideas for anniversary presents, but knives are always a good choice. The quality of this knife was amazing! The weight and just the way it felt was awesome. I am very pleased with this purchase and more importantly, so is my husband.

Bought this for hiking and camping. Excellent tool and very well made. Packaging was perfect, so nothing was damaged when it arrived.

Quality of the Ka-Bar is excellent and I even had it engraved and it came out spectacular.

Holds an edge well. The primary reason I bought this knife is for camping/hiking. I wanted something strong and with a full tang. After several days of research I have settled on this one. I have had it for almost two years now and still love it.

I am in the process of collecting combat knives and I have collected a Fairborn (very disappointed), several trench knives and this one the Ka-Bar with serrated blade. This knife has a long history especially with the US Marines in WWII. It was standard issue with a leather handle. The Ka-Bar was a all purpose knife, one to use in combat, others to cook with, break up hard dirt, chop down small wood limbs for fires and many other things. The reason is has longevity is that has a comparatively heavy blade which is impossible to break under normal situations. Other combat knives like the Fairborn can be used only for one thing, combat, trench knives usually have a metal protection for your knuckles that gives you the ability to punch with a brass knuckle type blow. But its other utility is pretty limited. The other thing you need to look at is not just the knife but the scabbard. The scabbard is probably the most important part of the knife since it protects the blade and your body from being cut. This scabbard provides carrying opportunities other than carrying on your belt. You can carry it on your MOLE vest, web belt,etc., by using the available loop cutouts on the scabbard. You can carry it on your lower leg by using small straps on the two loop openings; the options are endless. So here is my suggestion: dont consider any knife unless you can see the scabbard that comes with it.

I bought it because every knife guy has one. Its an okay knife. It came more or less dull, the powder coat is kinda thick, I actually used it to stab a laptop I was getting rid up in my yard. It actually hurt my hand / wrist doing so but may have been my technique. It dulled the point so badly that you can run your finger over the point no problem. Its heavy. I cant see anyone in the military taking this knife over other options though, at least this model.
