In order to Unlike most of the power strips of this type, all 6 of the plugs are smart and addressable individually. I was not able to group them using the CASA app, but grouping using ALEXA works flawlessly, and that is how i interact with it, so no worries there for me. Note the usb ports are not smart but could still be handy (I am not currently using them). I have stacked stereo components (turntable, pre-amp, amp, headphone amp, streamer) and it was a pain to turn them off and on manually depending on to what and how I am listening. This was especially true of my preamp since the power switch is in the back and not all that easy to reach in my setup. So I used Alexas routine function to do these things. For example, I might say Alexa, Stream Music to Headphones or Alexa, Play Records through Speakers, and the appropriate items are switched on or off. Or when I am done, Ill say: Alexa, turn off the stereo This works great for me. Very flexible. Update: 4/19/2022: This is still a great product, but my home recently suffered a power surge due to a failure of a utility company transformer. The surge protector (like the other surge protectors in my home), shorted. I dont know how the warranty service will pan out, but I do know the process is cumbersome: Long waits for phone-in and for chat you must first register the product, and to register the product, you must first create / log in to an account. And, unlike APC, they do not guarantee the devices plugged into the surge protector. One of my surge protectors was an APC. Though that unit protected all the devices attached to it, the APC unit also shorted. I got on a chat with an APC rep right away and after answering a bunch of questions, they shipped me a new unit and told me to cut the cord on the old one. So I am removing one star TP-Links PIA warranty policy.

I mainly purchased this because of how many socket it has and it has watt usage tracking for every socket. So the app will tell you how many watt each socket is pulling. Only downside is that the USB port doesnt provide and wattage and the ability to turn the socket off/on. It works great with Google/Alexa as well. One thing very important to me is the accuracy of the wattage it provides and it seems to be in line with my wattage meter so accuracy is not a problem. Overall really good product, would be better if I can control the the USB port and provides usage.

I use these ALOT. I have no issues so Im not going to detail the obvious. Read other review for the obvious stuff. My review is going to list what I think could be improvements. First the APP is good but not if you have multiple homes. Everything is listed in a single list. So if you have 3 of these you have a long list (3x6) in order to get to what you want to control. The APP supports groups of things to control all at the same time but not segmented by location. Secondly, as a network technician I would love a rack mount version of this device. It makes it hard to have a nice clean install with this thing haphazardly strapped up or hanging down. :Lastly the tiny mounting holes in the back of the unit as too weak to hold all the power cords plugged into this unit. How about some front mount holes with some heft? Just my opinion. I hope TP-Link reads this review and takes some action.

I havent used any other brand for smart power bars but I enjoy using my Kasa with my Google home. You can schedule when to turn on and off your devices or if youre away from home for some time just to shut the power off for everything. Just wish I could do that with the USB outlets. I own quite a few of these and would definitely recommend them.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SELLER. Let me start with a review of the seller. I ordered my product as “used - like new”. There’s a certain quality expected with the “like new” title, and this did not live up to it. To start - the plug was sent in its regular product packaging, and wasn’t taped or sealed shut. I was able to open it on my doorstep with one hand. My delivery driver commented on how it wasn’t taped shut. Literally anyone could have opened it and stolen it, there was nothing keeping it closed but the way the box is made. That was it. They could have at least used the shipping label to keep it shut as the literal bare minimum. Next - the plug was NASTY. I’m talking 3 Clorox wipes worth of dirt and grime. There were scuff marks on it and it was sticky and slimes? I mean seriously - there’s a pandemic, you’re listing it as like new. They least you should be doing as a seller is wiping it down and taping the box shut. It was ridiculous. There was dirt in the outlets themselves. The cord was grey (it’s supposed to be white), and there were black marks all over the back. It was just gross. This was far from “like new” and honestly the seller should be ashamed. On to the power strip itself: Fantastic. This thing works so well! I use it to automate my greenhouse and it’s absolutely brilliant. I love that I’m able to track how much energy it’s using, and I’m able to control it with either the SmartThings app or Google Assistant. It makes my life infinitely easier. The flat plug is great too, and the outlets are at 90° so I can fit all my large plugs in without a problem. The 3 always-on usb outlets are great as well. Power strip is a 10/10. Love it. Highly recommend it. This seller is at most a 1/10. Buy from someone else.

I got this mainly to monitor power drain. Sure, some plugged-into-the-wall devices work to that end, but either you have to scooch down to the outlet to see it, or put it on an extension cord and then its still far too unwieldy. With this, you can just open the Kasa app and see what the wattage is real time, plus see kWh of daily and long term use. Thats just nice. Also just having the switches there on the strip to turn items on and off individually is great. Especially good if you have a computer you like to put into hibernate. The lightest wind gust against the mouse and its right back on again. Not anymore! Heh heh. My only real complaint is that, like a lot of smart devices like (scales, lightbulbs, etc.), it only uses 2.4GHz, not 5GHz. Fine if youre in a house surrounded by nothing, but if youre in an apartment, hoo boy, better make sure youre not sharing WiFi channels with anyone. Theres tools for monitoring whos using what nearby, and as long as you use your own router, changing those settings are easy. Still, idk why they cant use 5GHz. Why do some devices do that? Why do so many still use Micro-B USB plugs/ports? Other than that, I have no complains. Highly recommend.

Update 1-2-2021: Well it seems I made an error in my original review. If you do change your wifi name or password you can re-connect the device without loosing all your settings. The key is to not select reset device when re-connecting it, which is what i did. Then it will go straight to the wifi setup section without loosing names or schedules. However this isnt mentioned anywhere in the manual (which is just a little card telling you to use the app). I had to get the information from users at the Kasa forum and it took a while to find. So Im uping my rating, but still docking 1 star for this to not be documented in the user guide or app. Original Review: I liked this thing so much that I bought another one. They were both super easy to set up and the app works great to controll each outlet individually and create schedules to help save energy. The plugs are spaced far apart enough to be able to plug in USB power supplies and other wall warts without covering an adjacent outlet. Overall the thing is great and I would have given it 5 stars easily. And now for the bad, and I mean really bad! I routinely change my wifi password about once a month as recommended by security experts. This is where it completely fails. The app has no place to change this. Not even in the settings for the device. Their support says I have to reset it to factory settings and set it up again! This is a major failure. So now I have to setup 12 outlets again with names and schedules. I was going to buy a couple more of these, but now forget it. 12 outlets is enough to have to redo every month. Unless TP-Link pushes out a firmware or app update to correct this horrible oversight I wont be getting any more. Thats why I only gave it 3 stars. When and if they fix this issue it becomes a 5 srar product.

4 Stars because this helps with scheduling of lights and airstones on my 4 aquariums so they are automatically consistant everyday. I would give this product 5 stars but some days the schedule is not accurate e.g. today my light had to be turned on in the app manually but the other 6 days this week it was completely automated. Not sure why it blips but I wouldnt trust it to automate my filters or anything critical like that.

I bought this power strip for my aquarium and Im glad that I did. It makes aquarium maintenance very easy. I can press the power button next to the plug that I want to turn off/on as needed. I also really like being able to schedule when some items (lights) are on. I liked it so much, I bought another one. The only downside is if an item is on a schedule, you cannot use its own power button to turn it on/off. For example I have my aquarium lights on a schedule. Sometimes I want to take a look in the aquarium for some reason while the lights are off according to the schedule. When I press the power button on the lights to turn them on nothing happens. I have to use the app to turn on the light. Its not that big of a deal, but something you should be aware of. Lastly, I wish I could get a bigger version of this strip.

I love, love, LOVE this Kasa Smart Plug Power Strip. Im one who tends too keep their mobile phone plugged up into the charger anytime Im home. Studies prove that doing this leads too the battery loosing the ability to hold a full charge in a shortened period of time. So Ive purchased this power strip specifically for my home office, and have attached several important items too each of the six plugs. 1. Charging plug for my iPhone 8. 2. Cordless Panasonic Link to Cell handset. 3. Paper Shredder. 4. Portable Bluetooth speaker. 5. Electric Bug Zapper. 6. Charging plug for my Logitec H600 Headset. Configured everything very easily using the Kasa app for iOS. Assigned an appropriate name for each device plugged into a designated smart outlet on the strip (Outlet 1 - 6.) 1. iPhone 2. 2nd phone (Already have cordless phone 1 plugged up in living room) 3. Shredder 4. Bluetooth Speaker 5. Zapper 6. Headset Next I linked my TP-Link Kasa account after activating the Kasa Alexa skill on Amazon.com. Did this so I could turn On/Off each individual plug/device using Alexa and the many Echo dots/plus/Studio devices I have positioned all over the house. Then I proceeded too set daily on/off schedules for when I wanted devices like my iPhone, 2nd phone and headset too be recharged during the day/night. This was so easy to do using the Kasa app installed on my iPhone. Thats it. Nothing else needed too be done. Now I have a system in place that keeps my portable devices fully charged whenever I use them (Without compromising battery life.) I can also say Alexa, Turn on Zapper when Im covertly bitten by a blood thirsty mosquito. Love catching the little buggers off guard and hearing that beautiful Pop sound when they land on it. Then I say Alexa, Turn Zapper Off once their gone! I owe it all too this Kasa Smart Plug Power Strip. Have now made my entire automated home system centered around Kasa Smart Plugs.
