> 3 dayThe sound difference is minimal with only a single layer applied. I chose to add a second layer at every point where the base layer met and created a seam. That gives the rigidity I expect. This product does not reduce all sound. It simply adds rigidity to the sheet metal and stops rattles and tinny sounds. Adding a layer of acoustic foam padding under the carpet is still advised if total sound reduction is your goal. As measured with a caliper, the material is just over 2mm thick. 80mil = 2.2mm, so it is as thick as advertised. I still wish it was significantly thicker... It is about half as thick as the old factory stuff I peeled out of my truck. It is worth noting that I am working on a 97 F350 pickup. A modern car has considerably thinner metal and a single layer may work better on modern cars. There is a slight asphalt smell on the material. However, I have yet to notice it once installed. It just smells like fresh pavement out of the box. A handy tip, buy a cheap wooden spatula and use that for the initial fit before using a roller. It is much easier to manipulate into folds and reduce air bubbles. My advice, add an extra box to your order and plan to add a second layer at strategic points to achieve the result you desire. Otherwise, just pay the extra money and get a thicker product. But, for the price, adding a second layer is still probably the best value.

> 3 dayInstalled in all four doors of my double cab Toyota Tacoma. I covered as much surface area as I could reasonably reach, so probably 70% of the entire door since there are side impact bars, body lines, window mechanisms, etc. inside the door. I like very much that the back foil has bumps to make it easy to tell when it’s properly rolled down or not. In my case, I installed in the Texas summer so adhesion and flexibility were no issue. I also like that it didn’t leave black goo on my fingers as another brand did. The adhesive seems to be really good, too. The biggest (only?) challenge was getting it rolled into place because there’s not much room inside the doors. My hands were all banged up and bloody from sharp edges and screws and whatever all is hiding in there, but that’s not the mat’s fault. Once all was reassembled I went for a drive. All the way from idle up to 75mph there’s a definite reduction in road, tire and engine noise. It’s not magically silent, but you hear music better and can speak more easily with one another. I’m convinced enough that Im going to sweat my ears off to put this on the back wall of the cab and then put it into my other vehicle as well.

Greater than one weekI bought this to quiet my Mercedes Sprinter cargo van. it cam with NO sound deadening , just a tiny ineffective mat inside the hood and engine area. Wow this stuff is really easy to use, just cut with scissors peel and stick. it sticks very well it is a warm day. my van was so loud that we could not carry on a normal conversation before adding the killmat , now it is easy. cost is very effective at less then 10 bucks per door for example. 20 buck for my huge ceiling above the driver and passenger in front. now I have zero road noise and want to cut down the diesel engine noise .. going to but more for the firewall and floorboard areas to cut down the engine noise, but that is just a nice to have at this point. Kilmat killed my noise problem

> 3 dayIt does work good but doesn’t cancel as much noise as I expected. In my Polaris Northstar it helped a good bit on noise canceling but still a bit louder than I wanted. Where the Kilmat knocks a home run is vibration from the subwoofer and sound system.

> 3 dayIts a good product. Am alternative to the dynamat. I only want to write this review because if the way most people use it is wrong. Its not supposed to cover the entirety of the interior panels. You apply this where there are large flat panels or where a piece of metal makes vibrations or resonates. There are more lightweight materials you can use for full coverage but if you add this everywhere its really just dead weight.

> 3 dayGot this to reduce trunk vibrations from bass. Wasnt expecting it to cancel it completely. I was surprised with how well it actually did though. After reading reviews of other more expensive products like Dmat and 2ndSkin. But this product also had good reciews as well so bit the bullet to save some cash and glad I did. I got enough to do my whole trunk and rear deck lid were my 6x9s are by the rear window and had 3 sheets left over. Thinking of getting another box so I can do all 4 of my door but would have a lot left ober after that. So thats still uo in the air but I am going to use whats left from the 1st box on certain rattle poins on the doors for sure. If Youre up in the air about getting this or the more expensive brands just go for it. I know people that have each if the 2 high end brand I for mentioned and Killmat does just as good of a job for about half the price.
