> 3 dayWorked pretty well for quieting my car down. It’s easy to cut to size and to apply, and I didn’t notice any smell. Id say I went for about 60% coverage and ended up using about 1.5 of the 3 boxes I ordered.

> 3 dayMy truck is just about as noisey as they come, while I wasnt jumping for joy to do the actual job of installing these, ill tell ya - pretty big difference. After the install i remember my first drive thinking whats wrong with my truck? it sounds... weird - what was weird was that it was quiet! Installing these is a labor of love. Find a nice fair weather day, some shade and put on some tunes and just get it done, if your car is noisy this is your solution. It goes on easy and has so far (1 year+) held up great, I have had to remove my door panels to install new mirrors and took a peek inside and its all held up the same as the day I put it on. I ended up doing nearly my whole SUV, interior, firewall, all 4 doors, the back bed/trunk. Made a huge difference, would do it all over again if I had to. 5/5

> 3 dayIm never 100% sure how well this stuff works, Ive purchased name brand and off brand and never felt like it was a night and day difference, but then again I rarely do a whole car in one go so its more of an incremental change. Does a great job taking buzzing and rattling out of panels for sure, and seems to somewhat improve bass clarity, but I dont know that it does much for road noise etc.

> 3 dayI installed this throughout my Montero Sport, mostly in the rear cargo area to quiet the many rattles that come from 200k+ miles of driving around Montana/PNW. I pulled off the interior trim panels and placed a layer on the inside of the exterior sheet metal fender panels, then a layer on the inner sheet metal panel that frames out the cargo area and the trim panels clip in to. I got about 70-75% coverage, mostly because I was being a little lazy and a bit rushed, but I also didnt want to interfere with any holes that were used for trim clips. Or run out of the 65sq/ft before ordering more. I feel like the 80mil material is heavy/dense enough that 100% coverage wouldnt really be necessary. I did do both front doors so far, along with most of the rear and there is definitely a difference. A lot of the rattles are completely gone, while the bigger, louder noises that came from offroad driving are considerably quietier. The loud banging from rocks getting thrown into the wheel wells is much less noticeable. The doors close with a much more solid sounding thud with no rattles then before. I have decent Rockford speakers in my doors but nothing loud enough to notice any sound quality differences as far as stereos and such are concerned. This product will probably stick to anything, but I strongly suggest giving the surface a wipe down if its dusty. Its repositional as long as youve only got a few square inches stuck down, any more than that and good luck. Cuts pretty easily with a utility knife on a scrap of OSB or something. Definitely worth the money and time invested to not hear everything rattle on long off-road trips.

13-04-2025I drive a Ford Excursion and the first project was the four doors, second was the barn doors, third was above the headliner, and finally the rear quarter panels and under the cargo area carpet. Each step yielded an improvement and now that its all done I have to say the interior is so much quieter and the truck feels more solid. Of course it is! Another advantage is the truck doesnt get as hot since the Kilmat is a good insulator even though its inside and the sun still beats on the painted steel body. The a/c cools the inside much faster and more effectively. The next thing is to coat the roof with Line-X and there is sure to be a huge temperature improvement. Great product at the right price. If you want to spend the extra for the D brand, think twice before you buy. Calculate the material weight per sq ft and compare!

> 3 dayI am in the midst of upgrading the audio system in my (new to me) 2009 Acura RDX. Six of the ten factory installed speakers had seen better days. The voice coils were shot in several of them found in the driver and passenger, front and back doors. There is a lot of great information available on you tube videos on steps to take to improve the sound quality of your auto sound system. Of course, replacing the speakers with some quality aftermarket models is an obvious first choice. I learned that another item to consider is Kilmat Car Sound Deadening Mat, available in 80mil and 50mil thickness. The thicker the better is good to consider installing when possible. Cut out paper templates of the various shapes and sizes of the mat for good fitment. Disposable surgical trauma scissors do a good job of cutting the mat to desired size. Be sure to also purchase the 3-pack of installation rollers. It is important to roll over the mat with the rollers to ensure proper adhesion of the sound deadening sheets to the metal door panels. Kilmats waffled aluminum top sheep product design easy shows where the mats have been rolled. The installed mats do add some weight to the vehicle. However, the marked decrease in sound reasonance is a welcome trade-off. Even installing mat to ~25% of the door panel will result in considerable sound deadening.

> 3 dayI applied this to the inside of the thin sheet metal on the top and side panels on my Samsung front-load washer and dryer in an effort to quiet them down and eliminate rattling and vibration. It worked amazingly well! Just wish I took pictures while I had it all apart. Also applied it to the bottom and sides of my custom made 14ga stainless steel bathtub of a kitchen sink. It worked fantastic there too. Great stuff!
