this is an awsome meter for the money! Got the one that dose it all! The mount for the negative prob for test voltage line to ground is so convenient love it! I bout this for testing voltage and capacitors for well pumps! Works great! Very happy with it! Feels real solid and heavy duty! Nice large case too so you can store extra probs!

Pretty cool tool. I bought it to quickly and easily identify current in 12vdc automotive applications using the clamp. It works well for that down to 250mA. There is one disappointing thing, though. It will not measure low currents through the wire leads. So, if you are trying to measure currents under 250mA, or you dont have room to get the clamp around the wire, you are out of luck with this meter. I thought this tool would completely replace my multi-meter plus give me the clamp feature. It does not, so keep that in mind when purchasing.

I am a Electrician by trade, through out my 22 years of experience 95% of my tools are Klein. I have owned about 3 pair of the Klein testers due to me loosing them, forgetting them on a job etc. Out of the 3 I have owned, EVERY pair ends up having issues when turning the wheel on as the meters will not come on. You will have to turn them off and on 2 or 3 times and sometime you have to tap the meters on your hand. I have replaced the batteries when this occurs and it makes no difference, its something within the meters. This has happened on every pair I have owned from Klein. My next set of meters will be of a different brand as this gets very frustrating when in a tight spot high in the air trying to check voltage. Sometimes this makes me second guess the readout.

I have owned one of these for around three years. While it works great when it works, as another reviewer has commented it really doesnt work well in the cold. I never had another meter affected by the cold the way this one is. But when it is cold the readings are completely inaccurate. Consequently I never trust this meter anymore. I particularly found the DC amp clamp function useful. But its not useful if I cant trust the readings. This is actually my second meter as well. The first one had an issue and Klein was good enough to replace it. Still, Im afraid that this meter is not very useful for me.

I wanted a meter to check dead batteries. My husband wanted a comprehensive multi-meter. This fills all our needs. Its heavy duty, has a protective case and is straight-forward to use.

This meter has the ability to measure AC and DC amps through the clamp. Easy to use and lots of functions. Great value

This product didnt work on arrival. I returned it and they never refunded me

I bought this meter for doing DC battery stuff turns out this meter has a bunch of useful settings like low impedance used for checking ghost voltages true RMS, AC, DC amps as well as volts I would buy it again. Update. CL 800 still going strong still very happy with purchase.
