This is a great combo package, especially for homes w newer child proof outlets. The non contact probe feature will not work with the new type of”kid safe” outlets, but the plug in current reader works perfectly. The no contact probe is accurate and simple to use. Love the duo.

Any home owner needs to own a set of these. These voltage testers could save your life. If you follow the directions and use these instruments carefully you will be able to identify live hot wires. I found both instruments to be highly accurate.

Since my previous dimmer broke I wasnt 100% sure what breaker the lights were connected to. I couldnt turn the lights on and flip breakers. I invested in this non-contact voltage tester. Glad I did, safety first. I got a minor zap years ago. I plugged in a light in my dinning room, flipping breakers until it turned off. Only the ceiling light above was on another circuit labeled garage! My advice, play it safe, TEST and make sure the power is really off. This is an inexpensive device that can save your life. I wish the probe was longer, I tested it on the old dimmer switch with the power on it it showed power off. I had to unscrew the old dimmer, pull it out some, so I could get the probe closer to the wires. This wasnt the case when testing a receptacle, just place the probe next to a hole and itll light up. Make sure you test on both sensitivity levels. The red 70-1000 didnt show voltage but the blue 12-1000. did. Auto-off feature is good for saving the battery.
