The switch works great. It is easy to set up with the app. Dont really need it but the app also records usage. I like that one outlet is constant on.

I ordered the 2-pack of the Smart multi-tap outlets, and just plugged the first one in this morning. The very first thing that I did was download a bunch of Smart Device apps, most of which were mentioned in different reviews here. 1. The KMC Smart App has a low 3-Star rating, but thats what I used to connect to the device. The instructions in the app kind of suck because you have to fail at your first attempt before it tells you that another option for attempting to pair the device is to turn on, wait 10 seconds, turn off, turn on hold the button until the light blinks fast, and then you can pair with the app. Its something like that, but dont quote me. lol 2. For giggles I tried the Smart Life app that someone in a review recommended... AND... it looks almost identical to the KMC Smart app. I wouldnt be surprised if there used to be a different KMC Smart app that earned the 3-Star rating, and the app I downloaded is now simply a customized for KMC version of Smart Life. 3. Someone complained about network security because you have to share the WiFi password with the app, but you HAVE TO do that so the app can send the password to the device. The device uses WiFi as the interface if you want to access the settings, so it needs a password. If youre concerned about security, which I am, I turned on the Guest WiFi network with access to my home network disabled, but it still has Internet access if I use any cloud services down the road. 4. Some people claim that all switchable plugs turn on and off together as one unit, which is why I state that the device is buggy. It seems to be a problem in the firmware of the device. Once I got the app connected to the device, which was annoying, I used the app to turn off the second plug. It went from green to black, and then I lost my connection because it also turned off the third plug, which was powering my router. The first plug stayed green, and never turned off, so Plug-1 is independent, and Plug-2+3 may be tied together. If the problem is that the device or the firmware, then its either the app or user error. Its probably user error in my case, but if not, then the issue may be random, so just be prepared if it is. 5. My main reason for buying this Smart Plug was to monitor the electricity usage of my home entertainment system, so take the following with a grain of salt. Anyone who has ever taken a physics or electrical engineering class should know that the measurement for power in Watts is the total after multiplying Current in Amperes to Voltage, AC or DC, doesnt matter. The app is telling me that the current draw on the 3 switchable plugs, or maybe going into the device itself from the AC outlet, is 2200 milliAmps (2.2 Amps). It also shows that the voltage varies from 119.4 to 120.4 Volts AC, and the voltage seems to be fairly accurate since the power transformer is maybe 50 feet away from my home. However, and this makes no sense to me, but the app states that the Power being consumed is 189.1 Watts. Dumb it down, and 2 times 120 doesnt equal 189, so Im confused. Considering that the majority of AC Voltage devices designed and manufactured in China use an 85 VAC to 140 VAC range in their designs, which makes sense from an engineering standpoint, I cant help but wonder if some programmer didnt set 85 as a static value when writing the code to do the power calculation. Divide 189 by 120, and you dont get 2.2, so I have no idea where the device is getting its numbers and measurements from, but if the Power calculation is wrong, then obviously the KWh measurement wont be right either. Again, I simply want to monitor the power consumption of my home entertainment system, so I took off a star because I cant find any documentation to explain why Power doesnt equal Current times Voltage. Im also using two power strips in Switchable Plug 1 and Switchable Plug 3 because the plug spacing isnt sufficiently wide enough for typical 3-prong power cord male plug ends, so having Switchable Plugs 2+3 tied together is a bit irritating, but I didnt deduct any stars since I knew from reading the reviews to expect it. Otherwise, if I can get a few years of use out of the Smart Plugs, I think they are a good value, even with all their quirks. lol

This product works as expect; however it has a flowed design. This is designed to plugin to a wall outlet. However, with the plastic post on the top and the 3-prong plug at the bottom, it will not stay in the wall outlet stably. Its own weight plus additional weights from outside plugs will make this loose. I have tried multiple outlets in my house and the result is all the same. I found an easy fix to this: turn my wall outlet upside-down. With this fix, the 3-prong will be at the top while the plastic post at the bottom, the outlet can stay stable.

I just received a 2-pack of this KMC Smart Plug yesterday. The setup was a breeze. One of the units I received was Dead On Arrival. It had a malfunctioning socket, but I will be getting a replacement after a quick 5 minute chat with Amazon. Here are the pros and cons of the units after my one day use. I will update this review when theres anything Id like to add. Pros: 1. Easy and polished Android app called Smart Life by Tuya Inc. making it super easy to setup.(I havent tested the iOS app) I found it easier to setup than setting up the Amazon Echo via the Alexa app. 2. Cheap. It will pay for itself after just a few months. For example, I have a smart vacuum that drains 13 watts/hour 24/7. It would save me $20 in 6 months if I program it to only charge the vacuum one day a week. Ill be playing with this functionality with my other vampire power devices in the house such as my WIFI-enabled laser printer(idles at 9 watts/hour), analog oven(idles at 15 watt/hour!!), XBox, smart TVs, etc. 3. Gives you easy control to areas that are hard to access. Now I can just pull out my phone to control via the app or say Alexa, turn on/off my TV backdrop light instead of crawling to the back of my TV. 4. Alexa, Google, IFTTT integration is so dang cool! Cons: 1. The instructions manual DESPERATELY needs an update. It tells you to should download a banned app called KMC Smart. It was banned because it had services that ran in the background of your phone that shouldnt have been running. The one you should download is called Smart Life. The seller really needs to update the manuals as this is a very critical step. 2. Sockets are too close to each other. 2mm more padding space would be more ideal for most plugs. 3. Sockets stay off after power outage. The statement on the product description is not true: After a power outage, outlets will retain their most recent setting to save energy. I hope the smart plug will get a firmware update to address this issue.

Difficult to initially set up. Had to place unit right next to router, but once set was able to place in room I needed it in.

I got this plugs on a sale for $ 16.14 a pack, this means $8.07 per plug. Initial impressions, construction looks good, this seems to be made by KMC and not a rebrand as it regular with all todays procuts as the brand is stamped on the product and not a label. The internal looks of good design and contructions, i got this to be used on my server rack so i can turn off/on individual products in case i need to restart them , like a server or switch. My initial problem was with the claim that After a power outage, outlets will retain their most recent setting to save energy. this is currently not true with the current firmware version, i tried diferent ways and would not work this way so it will not serve my purpuse unless i put tasmota on it. You can control each individual plug on the top row, and the one on the bottom is always on as indicated. I flashed this with tuya-convert and after that i programed the relays to retain memory and stay on the last state. One aded value of this plug is that it has total power monitoring, you can measure the total consumption of all the switches and this is good if you want to monitor your devices or appliances. Another good thing is the little plastic plug on the back that is supposed to align on a US 2 outlet receptacle for added stability, however you may need to remove this if you are going to plug this into any other place like the output of a UPS like in my case. Overall, this is a great value, im taking half a star because of the claim that the relays stay on the last state, this may be corrected on a future firmware upgrade, however this is common for smart devices with a few exceptions.

These randomly shut off, there doesnt appear to be a rhyme or reason to it. Otherwise theyd be great. So unfortunately you cant use them on anything where random shut offs are an issue, which is many things. Im pretty disappointed because I bought many at first thinking they were a great value, but not a great value if I have to replace them with something else.

These are the best deals going on multiple WiFi outlet devices. There are 3 individual WiFi outlets that can be named separately worth their own timers. And one always on outlet . Another great thing is they have their own energy use meter so you can tell the power draw on each plug. Stays connected to WiFi never had a failure Ive ordered 3 is these so far
