the fishbowl is adorable but my granddaughter did not stay interested for long. She is 7 months and I think it was a little too advanced for her. She did not even try to put the sea critters in the fishbowl--all she did was put them in her mouth. Her mother put it away and will try again when she is a little older.

This is a beautiful toy. The big eyes keep the babys attention. It is well made and baby safe. It will also grow with the baby when she can put toys in and out of the bowl.

My one year old LOVES this toy and he cant hurt himself with it. Its also very durable because he has teeth and tries to chew on everything. He learned to say fish right away too - haha

This toy is a sure fire hit for any infant and toddler out there! The fact that you could see their little faces in the fish bowl and each one is so soft is enough to please your child. Plus, theres the added bonus of having them throw the toys across the room and they would not cause any harm to anyone (although the possibility of knocking something off the table still exists, so be wary). My only complaint is that I liked the first version of the fishbowl released by Lamaze many years ago (the one with the blue shelled Squeaky Clam with the red face), but this is just a personal preference and it forgivable because the golden Jingle Fish is cuter than the other Jingle Fishes in other sets. If you want to give your child a toy that makes really fun sounds and will be less than likely to make them choke, this toy is your best bet! Just watch out if they want to use your actual aquarium as a live version of this adorable toy. Also, in case youre wondering, that is clearly a clam instead of an oyster as the box has you believe.

I bought this for my little girl... She started off by playing with the individual fish/dolls at around 6 months... now at 12 months, she loves putting them in and out of the fishbowl as well as playing with the individual dolls... another plus is that its light enough to carry around when going somewhere!

This is a very cute toy with different sounds and textures for baby to explore. My kid never understood the in and out concept. Even now that shes 2 she pretends she drinking the water from the bowl rather than putting the toys in and out.

This is a cute toy. My LO enjoys the plastic on the fish bowl. Its inhabitants are good sizes. They have bright colors and different textures. Overall happy with it.

I bought this toy for my new baby because I was afraid that my 3 year old daughter would claim all of the existing baby toys as hers. As it turns out, I was right. Now when she asks, Mommy, was this my toy when I was a baby? I can honestly answer, no. This way the toy can actually stay in the hands of the baby. I do find shopping for infant toys a bit overwhelming. There are skills the toys are supposed to teach, but rarely do they just promise fun. For my 6 month old I didnt want something that was going to help her get into an Ivy League school. I just wanted something that she would play with. And babies, fickle creatures that they are, can be completely unpredictable when it comes to finding something to hold their interest. At 6 months of age, my baby had zero interest in this toy. Id shake the fish, shed smile and then turn away. Now that shes 9 months shes showing a bit more interest. The sorting is not really sorting in the traditional sense of putting the square object through the square hole. Its more pre-sorting. Put the fish in the bowl and take them out. No worries about which shape to shove the item through or having fine enough motor skills to get there. The fishbowl is made of a well padded fabric base with cardboard in the bottom to make it stand, narrow sides made of fabric, and a fabric rim. The wide sides are made of plastic. Floating in the water are several sea creatures. The creatures are all smiling. Clearly they have no clue about what babies do to toys. The stiff sides coupled with the soft fabric sides cause the fishbowl to collapse closed to the point where there is no way that my baby can put the sea creature toys into the bowl. Taking them out is no problem at all. The collapsing bowl isnt so much a problem for my baby because the preschooler has claimed the fishbowl as her purse and she carries it around with all of her toy cars inside. Hmm...dont want the baby pulling those out! The included plush sea creatures are cute and my daughter plays with all of them. The starfish rattle is grasped by two of his pointy legs and one of his five legs or his happy face are stuffed into the babys mouth for some serious sucking and slobbering. (Dont call the authorities, the baby is the one doing the stuffing!) Starfish comes out of babys mouth with the same silly grin he had when he went in. His face has a nice satiny texture. The fish rattle has two side fins, a dorsal fin, and a tail that are all grasp-worthy. His face ends up with the majority of baby slobber. He has a soft, satiny face and his rattle has a slight bell sound to it. The terry cloth clam squeaker is a bit bulky for baby to grab, but luckily his shell flares out a bit around his face giving him two handles for grabbing. We havent quite figured out the best way to suck on this one, so mostly his backside gets a good gumming. Crinkle crab is, perhaps, the easiest to chew. The claws on his sides are easy to grab and when you chew on him he makes an awesome crinkling sound. The crinkliness makes him a bit easier to chew and he the feedback on your chewing is quite fun. I put all kinds of baby friendly toys out for the 9 month old, but she will crawl across the room to find the pebble that got tracked into the house or the tiny Barbie shoe that the 3 year old dropped. She does occasionally select one of the sea creatures on her own for an afternoon snack. And I hope that as she continues to grow that she will use this toy for its intended purpose--learning to put her things away!
