My daughter has had this toy since she was about 9 months old (now 17 months old) and she does like it but its not anywhere near her favorite. My daughter will every once in a while play with the toys (taking them out and putting them back in) but mostly she throws all four toys out of the fish tank and then moves on. If this was a $5 toy that would be fine but I think its WAY over priced. It was a present and I hope the person that bought it for her got it on sale because for $20 something much better could have been purchased. Also, the four fish toys included are very similar to many dog toys so if you have a dog in the house beware.

Bought this for a friends baby shower gift. I loved it so much I added it to my baby registry the next day! No fancy bells or whistles, no batteries, just good old fashioned stuffed animal toys :)

I bought this toy for my three nieces and nephews for Christmas and heard such good things about it that I wanted one for our own daughter, even though I think I bought it a little early for her to be very interested in it at first. I brought it back out recently and shes showing a lot of interest in the little fish and I think their bright colors and different textures keep her intrigued. I actually like how they roll around and sometimes pop out of her reach because it makes her reach for them and seriously consider crawling to get them. She hasnt quite picked up the talent of putting them back in the fish bowl, but were working on that! I think its a great toy and well thought out to keep young children amused for some time!

I bought this toy for my daughter when she was three months old. That was, perhaps, ambitious on my part. She didnt really play with it, but did enjoy it when I squeeked the clam or rattled the yellow fish. Shes now 8 months old and as shes gotten older, this toy has been a keeper. I can take it with me, dump in the four toys that come with it and a couple other rattle balls, and itll keep her company, amused, and happy for visits, eating out, picnics, etc. Shes JUST starting to understand the clear plastic sides and the need to reach into the bowl to grab the toys as opposed to trying to break through the sides to get at what she can see but not reach. I like that its teaching a form of permanence. Mostly, though, I like that this is something that Ive gotten lots of use out of with the little one. Not her very favorite toy at any given time but a keeper nonetheless.

This toy is a sure fire hit for any infant and toddler out there! The fact that you could see their little faces in the fish bowl and each one is so soft is enough to please your child. Plus, theres the added bonus of having them throw the toys across the room and they would not cause any harm to anyone (although the possibility of knocking something off the table still exists, so be wary). My only complaint is that I liked the first version of the fishbowl released by Lamaze many years ago (the one with the blue shelled Squeaky Clam with the red face), but this is just a personal preference and it forgivable because the golden Jingle Fish is cuter than the other Jingle Fishes in other sets. If you want to give your child a toy that makes really fun sounds and will be less than likely to make them choke, this toy is your best bet! Just watch out if they want to use your actual aquarium as a live version of this adorable toy. Also, in case youre wondering, that is clearly a clam instead of an oyster as the box has you believe.

We had one of these in 2005 that was more sturdy and had bluish water in the walls that was really cute. We still love the toy, but were disappointed to see the downgrade and the price higher. :(

I have newer version (the one with no water). I think this is the version that has been out now for sometimes (and part of the reason I wish Amazon would create new entries for new versions of baby items since they seem to always be changing and cant rely on older reviews). Anyway...my 10month old baby loves this toy and has now for the past 3+ months. She plays with it almost every morning while getting ready for the day, and every morning, she has just as much fun as the morning before. The toy is great in that it is quiet - ie not electronic and no batteries needed. The animals are just the right size for her hands to grab out of the bowl. For some reason, she has become especially attached to the starfish. Unfortunately, we lost it somewhere and thus, had to buy another fish bowl toy (since you cant purchase just a single animal). We kept the starfish but gave the rest of the duplicate to her daycare classroom - the kids there immediately circled around the toy and all started playing with it too (ages 6 months - 14 months)
