Amazing detail, fun to build. I purchased this as a present for myself and my kids (ages 6 and 9). Though not really designed for playing with, this set does allow for some fun for the kids. It took about 2 weeks to build, working about 1-2 hours 5-6 out of 7 days of the week. It was fun to build with the kids, though some of the steps are much more difficult for the younger kids to follow (there are almost 1400 steps). It was amazing to see it come together and my kids eyes as it started to truly look like the Falcon. I enjoyed it and will continue to. Just be aware that it does have a hefty price tag. You will have to decide if it is worth the much money for you. It was for us!

Good: This is an architecture marvel. I cant even imagine the engineering that went into figuring out how all the pieces came together. Bad: This set had a lot of wrong/ missing pieces (I count at least 12). For example, a step will say to add a 1x2 dark gray tile piece, but there are no dark gray pieces left in the numbered bags, so I had to use a light gray piece instead. Or a step will say to add a 1x1 dark gray tile piece, but there are none in the current bags so I have to use a left-over one from a previous step. And I didnt care for the blind connections: the step would basically say this section goes on this section without clear directions about how the yellow axle piece should fit into a specific stud. Sure, its probably logical where the part should go, but it would have been better if there was some sort of cut-away view to make it clearer. And I dont understand the organization of the steps. For example, step 1 will say to connect a 2x6 black piece to a 2x10 gray piece. Then step 2 will be to add a 2x4 red piece to the the 2x10 gray piece. Why not combine these into 1 step? Then step 10 will be a sub-assembly of 5 steps (repeated twice) and put into place. Why not split into 10 steps? Then step 20 will say to connect 3 1x1 brown tiles pieces, 2 1x1 black pieces, 4 1x4 tan pieces, and 2 1/2 gray pieces. That could 11 pieces in 1 step. After all, the set has 1,379 steps, so why not reorganize these a little bit?

I won this hunk of junk in a card game. Fastest ship in the galaxy if you ask me. A little rough around the edges but hey it’s got a working Dejarik board so that’s sweet. Has panels for hiding stuff from Imperial inspections and the seats in the cockpit recline a good amount. Easily meets the advertised 12 parsec jump time. Downsides: she’s real ugly. If your trying to get a date with like a princess or something, she’s probably not going to be too impressed. And there’s this distinctive wet Wookie smell eminating from it. Not sure if it’s something a couple dozen air fresheners can take care of or not.

When I ordered this set. I really thought that this would come in a nice box. Instead, this came in a larger box but was not protected on the inside. The box itself was scratched up and dinged very badly. For paying as much as I did, I really thought Id receive a nicer box. Otherwise, Im very please with actually receiving the item I purchased.

I was always regretting not purchasing the first Ultimate Lego Millennium Falcon (>5000 pieces and $500) but I was thrilled when I heard Lego creating an upgraded version of it and I promised myself that I wouldnt miss this one. This kit is huge. It took my 3 boys and me over 18 days to complete it on a part-time basis. We took out time building it because we enjoy the entire build process. It is pretty cool the way its designed. It has a Techniques internal frame and the armor plates rest on top of the frame. I wish they designed the armor plates to attach to the frame to make it a stress bearing piece and adding to the overall rigidity of the model but alas they did not. When you finally place all the armor on top of the frame it will cause the frame to flex hence you cannot just pick up the model but you will have to carry it a certain way if you want to move it. Of course Im just nit-picking, make no mistake this is an awesome model and an engineering miracle. I love it and its totally worth it.
