> 24 hourThis is the second Levoit humidifier I bought in the span of two weeks. The first was the Smart Cool Mist humidifier. It made only a small impact on the humidity in my bedroom so I opted for this unit which has a larger tank and supposedly puts out more mist. Unfortunately, it also is not able to get the humidity in my bedroom to a healthy level of 50-60%. So far, the highest it has recorded is about 42% and that only lasted for a short while. The avg humidity when running is reported to be around 35-38%, up from the room standard of 24-28%. An improvement, sure, but not delivering on the promise the product is supposed to deliver. I tried emailing Levoit customer support and got a run-around. I explained my room size (a NYC apartment bedroom with high ceilings and steam heat) so that they could recommend a replacement. They never did. I like Levoit products because of their connectivity to a mobile app and the air purifier I have seems to do a decent job. I am incredibly disappointed that none of the humidifiers I have thus far tried have created a healthy humidity in my bedroom and am very dissatisfied with their lack of customer service. Have to figure out what product to try next.

> 24 hourI live in Arizona and it is very dry here. I bought this to replace my evaporative humidifier in my bedroom. The problem is with the sonic types of humidifiers they produce copious amounts of white mineral dust. This dust clogs my CPAP filters after a couple of days. The small particulate dust gets around the filters as well and fully coats the interior of my CPAP machine. It creates a very earth smell when using the CPAP. I know that I can use distilled water to reduce that issue but that becomes costly. My recommendation is to avoid these types of humidifiers if you have a CPAP device in the room. My other issue is the lack of controls to set the humidity level. I believe you can use an app but I did not get that far into the process and would really prefer to have that option as a physical control on the machine.

> 24 hourI own several wooden musical instruments that require consistent humidity levels. This is particularly critical in the winter when homes in my area (mid-Atlantic coastline, USA) tend to see deep declines in relative humidity levels that remain unstable, which is very bad for instruments. I require 40% - 50% RH in my office/study, which is an enclosed space of 150 sq. ft., something this unit should easily handle. It fails, mainly because its internal hydrometer is completely whacked. The manufacturer was perfectly responsive and professional when I complained and quickly sent me a replacement. Which was equally problematic, so the problem isnt one of a malfunctioning unit. The problem is with the product build. The first unit arrived and started great. I didnt need, nor have used, all the functions. I merely required 40-50% RH in my study. So my review doesnt get into the cool v. warm mist, aromatherapy options, remote control operations, etc. All of that stuff was unimportant to me. I just needed consistency. And for the first evening, the unit did great. Critical to this story: I bought two separate hydrometers, one for my study (placed about 8 feet away from the humidifier) the other in my wifes study, where she keeps her own instrument. That first night, the humidifiers RH reading was about 5 points above what the hydrometer was saying, which is to be expected: the humidifiers internal hydrometer sits right next to where the mist is created and where most of the mist evaporates, so it is to be expected that the readings will be a tad higher there. I wanted 40-50%, so I set the humidifier to 45%. I got 40% on the separate hydrometer when the humidifier read 45% and shut down. However, in the morning, I came downstairs to discover that the room had plunged to about 31% RH according to the separate hydrometer. It definitely felt drier. looking at the humidifiers control panel, I was shocked to see that the unit thought the RH in the room was above 80% RH (!). I can assure readers that my study felt drier and that it had not been transformed into an Amazonian climate overnight, with lichens growing off my bookshelves. This became the story of the hydrometer: it would work just fine for a time but would then get these wild excursions in RH readings. I came down one morning for 90 minutes of practice, and in that 90 minutes, the humidifiers RH readings climbed from 45% to 76%. The separate hydrometer on my desk registered 37% when I arrived and 37% when I left, which felt right. I can assure the reader that I didnt break out in a sweat due to the thick tropical atmosphere in which the humidifier suggested I was sitting. As noted, the customer support was kind and responsive. I had a new unit within a week. I didnt even need to send the old unit back. However, the new unit suffered from the same excursions in its RH readings. While a sample size of two hardly makes my experience a scientific study, it seems highly unlikely that I was so unlucky to receive two bad apples. It seems rather more likely that something is just off with the design of these units. There appears to be no way to calibrate the humidifiers internal hydrometer--if one could train the unit by using a separate hydrometer, perhaps I could live with it. But absent this, and as my instruments require consistency in RH levels through the winter when interior RH levels typically plunge in my area as people seal up their homes and turn on the central air, Im going to have to retire these units and move on to another brand/solution. I should add that both of the free-standing hydrometers (the one in my study and my wifes) were consistent with one another. They are on separate floors of the house so that one can expect somewhat different readings, but they were definitely within a few % points of one another, and they consistently trended together. If developing and maintaining consistent humidity levels is not a concern for you--if you simply want to turn the thing on and have it pump some moisture your way--I would still consider this a viable solution. Its quiet, easy to operate, and efficient (to be expected, as my study is only 150 sq. ft, and this unit is supposed to handle many times that). But if youre looking to set the desired RH level, turn it on, and walk away, my experience suggests that youre going to be disappointed.

> 24 hourI had another Levoit humidifier that only lasted about a year. The tank cracked in several spots but otherwise was pretty solid. This one looks to be better built. For the review mentioning this wont work with 5G routers, you should be able to setup both a 5G and 2.5 on your 5G router. Ive had to do this with lighting in my house and it works fine once you set that up. Also important to note, the humidity sensor doesnt work. It bounces around all the time. Currently, its saying 75% but my humidity meter in that same room reads 40%. Sometimes it works but its pretty rare so dont buy it if you plan to use the auto mode.

> 24 hourThis is a great company to work with. We have two of their humidifiers and one started leaking. It was after the return time on Amazon and so I reached out to the company. Without hesitation, they sent me a new unit which is working great as well. Definitely will buy my next humidifier from this company.

> 24 hourFirst of all, I want to say, that I (and my plants) loved this unit, and it has worked fine the 3 months I have used it. However, I have found that this mist humidifier (and all mist humidifiers, I guess) goes through my house and leaves a fine mist of white dust on my furnace filter, which makes my furnace short cycle! I have never heard of this before, but I had a heating guy in my house yesterday (for an unrelated issue) and he was telling me about that, and of many customers who have this issue. I think distilled water would be the best, but Ive been using about 2 gallons a day, and am not going to buy that much distilled water! Now, I have to figure out what to do, to get humidity into my house! :(

> 24 hourI ordered this humidifier for my many houseplants upon the recommendation of a master gardener on Instagram. Its quiet and I like the different control options. Love that I can direct mist in two different directions. I could have sworn that I read its filled from the top and not the bottom. I was wrong, it has to be turned upside down to fill it with water. Thats what I hated about the smaller Levoit humidifier I was using before. It can be difficult to line everything up to fit the top back onto the bottom. I dont understand why the designers didnt change this feature. I am happy for my plants.

> 24 hourThis humidifier works very well in a large room. I have used it in my living/dining room for about 2 years now . I didnt use it over the summers though as there was no need for it. I like the multiple settings and large tank. The problem is that, even though I handled it carefully, it developed a leak in the tank seam between the clear part and the white bottom in less than a year. I used it for a total of 9-11 months and stored it the rest of the time. After storage I filled it and it started to leak. This is a fairly expensive unit and it makes no sense to replace it every year. I have always used distilled water in it and handled it with care. I have searched for a replacement tank but have found none. I tired to seal the tank seam with silicone sealant but that only worked for about 2-3 weeks. Now I have to throw the hole thing away and find something that will hopefully will last. Review Update: 12/19/22: It turns out that while I only used the humidifier for about 9-11 months it was actually over 2 winter seasons so I actually owned it for almost 2 years before the tank started leaking. About 3 weeks after I sealed the tank with silicon sealant, it started leaking again. This time I looked at the base unit and realized I had a 2 year warranty, unfortunately when I checked my purchase date on Amazon, it was 5 days past 2 years. I decided to call Levoit service and see what they could do for me. They said I needed to send them the purchase receipt and a pic of the leaking part. I did and they send me whole new unit. I have changed my rating from 1 to 4 because of the great service. I didnt give it a 5 because it still failed pretty early in its life.

> 24 hourI’ve tried many humidifiers over the years. This one is by far my favorite. Be sure to use distilled water.
