I have to say this is the best flashlight I have ever had. I bought this flashlight over a year ago and use it quite often. The light still shines as bright as it did on day one; and it is indeed a bright light. And, I have yet to replace the batteries. Sure, one could get the more expensive Streamlight or Pelican flashlights, but with this Maglite you are getting an absolute bargain. Its worth twice the price (or more). Maglite quality is there, just like the old days when America and Americans took pride in the things we made. I sure do miss those old days when we produced quality products at a great price that lasted forever. I am proud to say that Maglite still makes those times of American-made, quality, old-school products in this day and age. My only real complaint would be the black hole it produces. I dont know why this cannot be solved, especially since I have cheaper flashlights that do not have a black hole. I will not deduct any stars for this as this is such a great product, and in doing so would be dishonest. Long live the Maglite flashlight. And God bless the USA. • UPDATE! (5.15.2020): I have had this flashlight for almost 6 years now, and I have not yet changed the batteries! No joke. The light is just as bright as it was when I 1st took it out of the box. As a side note, I own another Maglite (incandescent bulb) since the 90s. I have not changed the batteries on that one either! It also STILL works as good as new! Maglite is THE BEST FLASHLIGHT out there, bar none!!!

Ive owned this for about 1.5 years now. Still works and is bright with the original batteries. Since purchasing, it will commonly flicker and become suddenly dim until I tap it a few times. Seems to happen when the flashlight is held horizontally. Im disappointed with that given the history this brand has. A positive is that it recently fell from a 6 foot ladder onto a concrete floor and it still works, flickering and all.

Great, Maglites are tough & bright. My last one though I left the D batteries in there too long. They leaked and fused themselves inside the unit with corrosion. The digital camo wasnt something that I was looking for, but I dont mind it. The actual bulb of the unit is LED, so its very bright & the batteries will last quite a long time.

I like the matte feel of the camo mag, it has more grip than standard black. Seems a bit thinner and lighter than my older one. Very bright

Great LED flashlight, very bright, battery life is incredible compared to a conventional bulb. Use this light all of the time and even bought one to store in my car kit. Wish they made this light with a hook on the back so you could hang it or tether it to something. You can unscrew the top lens to give a broad light - great for lighting up a tent or small room.

The 3 D-cell LED Maglite in digital camo finish is a great flashlight. Workmanship and material quality is outstanding for a budget D-cell flashlight (the flashlight is made in the USA). The design is well conceived, well executed and intuitive. The digital camo design -- it looks pixelated -- is very cool looking and appears to be wear resistant; this is an attractive flashlight and the product photo does not do it justice. Although the outdated packaging suggested that my flashlight was a previous (2nd) generation version, the flashlight is actually the latest (3rd) generation as can be determined by the Cree XP-E LED mounted on a green PCB and clearly labeled 484. The upgraded LED gives the flashlight a throw of 364 meters at 131 lumens according to newer Maglite packaging. With three good D-cell alkalines, battery life should be about 79 hours according to the updated packaging (tested under ANSI rules). Thats well over three days of continuous usage. The flashlight is built solidly and is a formidable club when filled with three alkaline batteries. The price is very reasonable for such a high quality flashlight. In fact, the price is lower than many Chinese-made products of lower quality. Getting the milled aluminum end cap on the flashlight can be tricky because the interior spring is very strong. Maglite installed such a strong string in order to keep the heavy batteries in place so that the flashlight doesnt flicker off through the bumps that occur under normal use. The attractive Maglite 3-D Cell LED flashlight in the camo finish is an outstanding product at a great price.

This light claims it is brighter than a four-cell incandescent Maglite. It is in fact dramatically brighter than a 4-cell, while being much lighter and shorter. If you buy a Maglite now, buy an LED because the bulbs and the batteries last much longer and they put out much more light. If you already have a Maglite with an incandescent bulb you can convert most of them to LED. If the bulbs are regular flashlight units and not the ones that have a bulb with two wires on one end, you only need a different bulb about $17.

Bought this for my husbands birthday since his original Mag Lite was misplaced a week prior and he was devastated. When he opened this one he was beyond happy! It is so much brighter than the older version. He now wants a few more! The LED makes a huge difference.
