Marshall Acton III Bluetooth Home Speaker, Black

Seriously, its rare to find a product at any price point these days that looks so good and is so solidly constructed. In fact, if I saw this little but fierce Bluetooth speaker at a friends house and they asked me to guess its price, Id put it in the five to six hundred dollar range. From the solid, substantive knobs and switches atop the unit to the superlative vintage grille cloth and perfectly executed Marshall brand name, the Acton III simply reeks of quality. Once you download the Marshall Bluetooth app to your smartphone or tablet, pairing it to your device is easy-peasy. The app also gives you control of the tone and placement compensation via your phone, so if you choose to put the speaker across the room in your home or office, youre still in control. It also has a 1/8 RCA auxiliary input should the need arise. Now, the million dollar question: How does it sound? If youre looking for transparent, flat, nearfield monitor sound, you wont find it here--and that is *not* a bad thing. Sound-wise, this speaker is as retro as its cabinet: Rich, warm, and distinctly analog. With punchy bass and crystal-clear highs, it adds flavor and color without sacrificing fidelity. Id say it has the sound of a high-quality floor or console from the golden age of radio. Consequently, if your source material was mastered for AM radio (pretty much everything before 1980), itll sound great on the Acton III. Now this does *not* mean anything post 1980 will sound horrible, because it wont. In fact, itll probably sound better than the Bluetooth speakers youre using now, and it will sound orders-of-magnitude better than even the best ear buds. Likewise, any vocal podcast is bound to sound great on this pup. Downsides? I dont see it as a negative but do be aware the Acton III requires AC power (no USB or batteries). So, while it is small enough to be portable, it is really best suited for a permanent home. In sum, Im blown away by the Acton III, and Im sure you will be, too.

Oh boy. This is where the phrase comes to play. You get what you pay for!!! OMG let me tell you. I do make my own music and play on many different radios till it sound right. At least I think it right. Until this happened. I get this speaker and I plug it in. I installed the app. I turn on the music and its like Marty McFly all over again. The quality of the music just blew me away. I though I had bass in the music but no. This speaker just brought out everything in my music and much more. It like I never really heard my own music before. My wife and kid is not at home and you think I am going to let them use this? No way. I never see it again. Its that good. To mee it worth every penny. I know guitar amps named Marshall and they are really good too and this one is awesome. Dont belive me then hear it for your self. Good Luck to you and your new sound system. Oh ya forgot. Gave the battery a 1 star because it dont have one. It has a cord for the wall.

Marshall is a British company that designs and manufactures music amplifiers, speaker cabinets, brands personal headphones and earphones, drums and bongos. With 60 years of history in high-fidelity sound equipment design and manufacturing, you would expect this speaker to sound amazing. And it does! Marshalls multi-directional sound technology is really cool. The speaker provides excellent 360-degree sound, regardless of the speakers placement. It is loud, clear, deep, and strong. The box is made out of soft rubberized material, it is solid and tight as a box in a Marshall concert stack, it just tells you in every way your got a professional grade product! This is a little brother to the bigger version of this speaker you see on the pictures. They pair for a full stereo sound system and sound amazing together! Marshall shows amazing attention to detail and top quality in everything they did, everything you see and touch, even the packaging and the wrapping is just done to the level youd expect form this company. Definitely 5 star product, in every way!

The Bluetooth speaker is small in size, it has a classy look. The powerful sound is crazy! I got it for my bedroom…….. you can hear it and feel it through the house .

Static sound both with blue tooth and direct connect. Marshall trouble shooting suggest move closer to turntable (defies purpose for bluetooth to put speaker where I like) also suggested turning the volume down! Led Zep on low volume... not for me.

This is a good looking speaker. The build quality is pretty good. I am really loving the retro design. I personally think the black and gold colorway really makes it stand out from some other speakers that Ive had. The size is just right and fits perfectly on my desk. The sound quality is great. This speaker has a nice crystal clear sound. The treble and bass sound very clean and not muddy like some other speakers that Ive had. For its size this thing gets loud. I like that it has the EQ settings on top. It makes it easier to adjust the sound to the way that I like it. You can also adjust the sound in the app but I really dont use it. In my opinion the app is pretty basic and useless. Pairing it to my iPad was easy. It was also easy to connect it to my Alexa. So far I am enjoying this speaker. I like it so much that I ordered one for my living room. This is one speaker that I would definitely recommend.

I really like this speaker design and sound wise. Still you definitely are buy in my for style. You can get better sounding speakers for the price and it has a couple negatives, It doesnt have a battery making it more likely to be used as a sound bar or hooked to a turntable yet the aux port is on the top rather than the back. In addition there are other Marshall speakers (some of which are discounted yet nearly identical older models) that are a far better value. Could see getting a Stanmore II which is bigger and better sounding or the nearly identical sized Kilburn than offers the convenience of battery power when you need. The moral of the story is that if you like the way Marshall speakers look there are lots of options.

Once fully charged youll get the sound like a large floor model speaker... easy to connect via Bluetooth...has a long battery life span... sound quality is unique... youll definitely love the sound

“Awesome” has become such a clichéd description nowadays that I make it a point to avoid using it. It is so overused that it has become meaningless. The split sound is so wide that you’ll have to look twice to make sure you have just one speaker playing. Perfect for soft music lovers, pop fans, opera aficionados and hard core rock’n’rollers. Brilliantly black with gold plated switch and connections, it’s a beauty to behold. With the classic Marshall look and appeal and with state of the art Marshall sound, you can’t go wrong with the Acton III.
