I have a difficult time with the program. No good direction for it. Wanted to like it because I had another program but it hooked up to the internet and it was more and more difficult to use. I am 73 and really not all that tech savvy.

I am so happy to be returning to MasterCook. The program is easy to use, has everything I need, and the customer service is prompt. I needed help converting my recipe files from another recipe program to MasterCook. Pam Erickson, from customer service, has been very patient and her directions have been easy to follow.

Was looking for a PC alternative to MacGourmet. Easy to use, powerful recipe and shopping list management software. Purchased MasterCook in that sprit and have found it to be ridiculously bad software. After an hour of trying to import and use my own recipes have come to the conclusion that I wasted my time and my money. The interface is clugy and difficult to use. The data management screens and dialogue boxes are dated and hard to use. Seriously looks like Windows Vista

I used a couple different versions of this software. Wanted to upgrade to the version. This was the previous version at a great price. So I got this instead. Now I will work on getting all my family recipes in once place. No more books, cards and sheets of paper or post it notes flying around. I can even scan the original recipe and store the picture in the recipe too.

A very long time ago I used Mastercook and then switched over to Living Cook because their software was so much easier to utilize. Then came the day when LC disappeared and I had nearly 2K of recipes that I could not access. I read that Mastercook would convert those recipes so I bought it. Big mistake. You have to send your recipes to their customer service department if the conversion process didnt work. It didnt. What a pain!! Then came the problem of trying to simply print out a recipe onto a 5x8 card. The convoluted steps I had to go through for each recipe has completely soured me on Mastercook. The best I could do for printing is portrait and I prefer landscape. I have been so completely disgusted by this software that I no longer try to use it for collecting recipes. Why bother. I just use it for the recipes that do not have nutritional information. So I am once more looking for new software.

This Computerized format for organizing my recipes for my family has proven to be very effective. I have looked into it, and most companies want you to purchase several copies for resale to others for a profit, but I have just been interested in putting some old recipes from my family together in a format that would allow me to print them out and put in a binder of my choice, and create as many as 1 or more without having to sign a contract for 100 or more for publishing. Very easy to navigate within formats provided and can plug nutritional information and other pertinent information on each recipe. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do a small version or prototype without publishing. Very Nice ..

Although the interface isnt as appealing as it was back when MC was being produced by Sierra, it still has the same functionality and ease of use. Ive been using this product for more years than I can count and am happy I broke down and finally upgraded.

I had the original software from probably the 1990s. It was a very handy program, though not particularly slick. I have been through a couple of computers and this time I cant find my cd. The tech who transferred the info saved my recipes however. I was going to buy the new software, but after reading the reviews, I wont, Its not worth it to me to get into a monthly subscription so I will just organize the recipes in some fashion so they are easily accessible.
