> 3 dayAfter many trials and errors with other plugs, this is my favorite and most reliable plug that works with my SmartThings hub! Others may be less expensive but you get what you pay for (headaches) with the others...

> 3 dayUPDATE 27 Aug 2022: My return window is coming up soon and I have heard nothing from messaging via Amazon nor sending email to the support email address. It looks like returning this plug is the only answer at this point. PREVIOUS 14 Aug 2022: The plug seems to have an oversensitive protection function. I plugged the z-wave plug into a 120v wall outlet, paired it to my z-wave hub, plugged a fan into it and turned it on. The fan operated as advertised on low setting, approximately 63W. I change the fan setting to medium and the plug reported about 78W. I changed the fan setting to high and the plug reported 90W. I then change the fan back to the medium setting and it appears the protection function turned the outlet off and the LED began flashing orange or red (manual says it’s red) continuously. Single presses of the program button seems to have no affect on the plug. It appears that the only to clear the power protection function is to remove the outlet from the wall outlet then plug it back into the wall outlet. At no point should the power consumed have reached the maximum ratings since this a standard box fan that shouldnt draw more than about 100W maximum. I also plugged a portable heater into the z-wave plug and found the same results. Changing the low-medium-high settings on either (fan or heater) occasionally produces transient/instantaneous jumps in wattage and/or amperage. Reported power consumption messages outside the protection parameters occurred. One message said the plug sensed 2304W and another message said it sensed 217A. On a house circuit and using a standard box fan and a portable heater, spikes of that nature must be instantaneous and transient else a fire would occur quickly after a short period of time. Yes, I have performed a factory reset, and confirmed the reset was effective in returning the plug to factory defaults. The same protection shutdown events occurred under the same circumstances after the reset. Plug seems to provide good energy reporting and may be a great plug if the load you use the plug for is a static load, single speed item, light bulb, etc. I really wanted to like this plug, but the protection function has made it useless for me. I sent an email to support, and will update this after a response or resolution. As of now, Im planning for a return.

> 3 dayI’ve bought 2 of these and use them with a Hubitat hub. The radio part seems a bit weak - often have to issue commands more than once and they tend to loose connection. By now - about a year into it - on both the relay seems stuck and they won’t work anymore. On an aside, I have over 75 z-wave devices - switches, outlets, locks, dimmers, garage door sensors, etc. so mesh density is not the issue at my house. They are cheap, so I gave it two stars - you get what you pay for.

> 3 dayWorld OK on my Z Wave controller albeit slower than other light modules. Should have sent these two back, but they worked so I kept em. Then just yesterday BOTH the indoor modules Model MP21ZD failed for no good reason. Both show as failed on my controller without means of recovery. They work locally with the button. Exchange if I can... Buy a different brand would be my recommendation to you. THREE STARS. The built-in repeater may also have failed as my other unit in the same room appears to depend on the network working. I tried to find out what options Amazon Support would provide... Answer: nothing, if not within 4 months as stated on their order page! Found out that the foreign manufacturer doesnt answer Amazon either for 24H. After filing a report on their web site, looking for refund from Amazon Support. I went ahead and removed the units and reinstalled them which should have reset the units as well. I suspect this will fail again.

> 3 dayMy Geckos lights had been on a very old, very noisy wheel style vacation timer. It was time for an upgrade. We use our Abode security system as a Z-Wave hub. Abode wanted $40 for their clunky power switch. This one was smaller and cheaper. I was worried the mini-plug might not work with our old Gen1 gateway. But it paired right away and everything works flawlessly. Now I dont have to listen to the old vacation timer grinding away, and if the power goes out it doesnt throw the lighting schedule out of whack. While the default options are what I need, its worth noting this little Z-Wave plug has some extra settings that may be of use to some. 1. You can configure the plugs behavior when power is restored after a power outage. By default it just returns to whatever state it was in before the power went out. But you can configure it to always be on or always be off if thats preferable for your situation. 2. The manual on/off button on the side lights up blue when the plug is switched to ON and outputting power. You can alter this behavior so that the blue light is either always on or always off. Great product!

> 3 dayI bought 2-pack of these smart plugs to add few floor-standing lamps to my Z-Wave system, also to be able to use as a repeater to extend Z-Wave range. Functionally it works, but Z-Wave range is pretty poor. At first I thought this is a problem with the specific location/signal attenuation in walls, but when I installed another brand (Eva Logik) smart plug in exactly the same location I got perfect signal strength, and the node became quite effective as a Z-Wave repeater. Unfortunately I already threw away the box/packing materials, otherwise I wouldve returned these smart plugs. Price is attractive, and if you dont need longer Z-Wave range these smart plugs can be used, but dont expect a lot from it.

> 3 dayThis appears to be a Inovelli rebadged product. Which is a good thing because they have a sterling reputation. Im using this with Home Assistant + OpenZwave integration. Pairing was a cinch as are controls within HA. The device exposes itself as 3 devices + 4 entities (3 plugs(???) + 1 Zwave repeater). Im not sure why theres a 3rd plug being exposed, but 2 of them seem to control the right outlet. Its pretty easy to disable the unused entity in HA, so not a big deal. As for repeating, my network is refusing to heal and route though the plug. Its unclear if this is a problem with the plug or my end devices. Im assuming its the latter, so 5 stars for the time being. Ill update this if it turns out to be the plug.

> 3 dayUnfortunately, when fully on, its still chopping voltage, and causes the lights I was using to buzz. It also responds very slowly.

Greater than one weekI love these plugs, they are compact, do not cover the second outlet on the wall, work great with Z-Wave; and the price is just right compared to other more expensive plugs. Includes and excludes from Z-Wave controller very easily. Great product.
