Installation was easy. There are a lot of nice features. It wors splendidly on the android platform. I have used VPNs before but I wanted to try Nord. I installed on 2 different later model computers- Windows 11. Both had issues. I contacted technical support. they responded quickly and were helpful. However after 3 rounds, I really lost my patience. VPN is to make my life easier. I really dont have anything to hide but I just like avoiding the ad trackers. So no more NordVPN for me. I did a trial of cyberghost - installed easily and worked perfectly.

The product came as a flashdrive, and was easy to set-up. The tech support can be better. Instead of answering your questions or offering assistance. They rather ask you to give them every information about you, your computer, what service you use, even when your just needing a simple answer. Its the same process over and over, which gets old.

It used to be that Nord was cheaper than ExpressVPN and could still select from a wide list of servers. After they billed me this past cycle, they changed the program so you can only select by city - no longer can you access all the servers in a particular city depending on scenario, now they give you one per city. So the number of available US servers went from 15-20 per city, for about 12 cities (over 100 total options…) to just the roughly twelve cities (12 options). Despite still having 10+ months left in my annual subscription, they refused to refund because I wasn’t a new customer - despite them changing the product in a way that makes Nord totally useless. Then they dared to lecture me on being respectful to them when they’ve defrauded their client base by reducing their product’s capability - and bumping the price by $40! Now they’re the same price as ExpressVPN - but Express is faster, easier to use, gives more options, can be installed direct on to routers, and doesn’t suffer the lag times and blockages that Nord’s limited servers do. Avoid Nord at all costs - go with ExpressVPN.

Addendum: My third year with NordVPN and Im having no problems with it (occasionally have to turn it off to gain entrance to a website but can turn it back on). Recent updates make it easy to change the level and form of security based on what you are doing on the internet. Much easier to use than in the past. Ive been using NordVPN for over a year and have communicated with them dozens of time trying to get this app to work on my iMac. But they always responded quickly with suggestions and the software updated regularly. I now reconnect it every morning and test it with Speedtest. Sometimes I disconnect and reconnect a half dozen times before I get a connection that has little impact on speed. I just added it to my 16 MacBook Pro and it worked perfectly from the start with virtually no loss in transfer speed. On the iMac, the VPN protocol is set to OpenVPN TCP. On the MacBook, the protocol is set to IKEv2. The latter is certainly working better so Ill change the iMacs protocol to IKEv2. On both, I have NordVPN set to open automatically after reboot and to close the browsers if it goes down. I also have it installed on Windows laptop and my iPhone. I dont think I was able to get it working on my Amazon Fire TV. Recent update seems correlated with an inability to download files one the mac using OpenVPN. Going to the same sites on the macbook using IKEv2, I am able to download the files.

I purchased the 2 year subscription for this service. I initially went through the setup instructions and settings according to Nords website. My connection speed went from 300mbs to less than 1. Nothing worked to improve this after working with support. I tried to get a refund but that was not an option for support either. My phone is filled with NordVPN ads too. This is the worst of all the VPN services and I hope they shut down. Please read all the one star reviews and not the paid reviews that are at the top of amazon and google plan. If you dig a little you will understand.

Blocked by way too many sites/apps. Pause feature is nice but if you have to use it at least several times a day then almost totally negated. A simple feature like auto-connect on MacBook was overly complicated (redirected twice then I had to sign in on my Apple ID every time) and one time I couldn’t do ANYTHING on my MacBook for 2 hours as it effectively locked the screen. Installed it on a different MacBook and tried to do things different but had to type in MacBook password every time i opened Nord. Considering that I can’t remember any other app asking for that repeatedly in 10 yrs of MacBook, and Nord’s shady practices (read below), I’m seriously wondering what they were trying to do to my MacBook. Lastly, they LIE about the subscription end date in their app. Since I had somehow missed the end date for my first month, was checking the end date for 2nd month a few times. My month was to end on the 5th. However, when I checked the app on the 1st, it clearly said my month was to end on the 10th, as I checked it against my calendar. When the 5th came up, though, my account was cancelled (as I put auto-subscribe on just in case). THIS is how I missed cancelling the first month, despite putting calendar and reminder notifications not only for this but every subscription I own. Was going to do the 30 day money back for the reasons above but obviously missed that. However, they wouldn’t cancel the 2nd month after I was a couple days late in cancelling, even when I offered to pay prorated. They even sent me the terms and conditions in quotes in an email. In light of their LIES about the subscription end date, makes perfect sense, though. Makes you wonder how many customers they’ve fleeced this way. NordVPN is so SHADY. Going with ExpressVPN next time out.

Read alot of reviews . Because of some of the negative reviews I only purchased a 1year subscription, just to check it out. Well after some setting adjustments, this VPN Rocks !! Very reliable and super fast. I am not sure were some of the negative reviews were coming from. But as of May 2022 using it in the USA North East, my experience has been great !! Just do some speed test and check what locations and IP they read you from. If you have any issues Nord has alot of info, or do a google search, plenty of info out there. Only issue I had was my edge browser was not using it. I later found my split tunnel settings were incorrect. I installed the edge app, but found I dont even need to use it on my desktop. The product is easy to install and the installation guide was crazy to follow. No issue encountered. Easy to use. Get the job done.

Like, finally started working on my PC. My other device, the jury is still out. Dislike, no available telephone number to talk to a live person. You are tied to a long and drawn - out chat session.

After a few glitches in the first couple of days with dropped internet connections, it seems to be running smoothly. Tech support was quick and effective and I assume it is doing the job.
