Park Tool Wag-4 Professional Wheel Alignment Gauge

Not sure how you would align a bike wheel without this tool

Its a little weird to use, but once you get used to it, its great. The older alignment tool was a little easier to setup. It had a more precise indicator. But, so far, the way Ive found to use this is to check that the blocks are hitting the rim, and not the tire. Push the center gauge part down into the concave part, and tap it over the axle of the wheel. Get it so that it clears the axle if you slide it back and forth over it. (Check for clearance) And then flip the wheel over and look at the back side. You should get a better reading doing it that way. Its a pretty awesome tool, and can save a lot of time and futzing with caliper adjustments. A must have for wheel builders.

Probably not the best bang for the buck, but worked fine to verify that all my wheels are probably dished

I am glad I bought this. I do not know if another dishing tool would have worked or if a makeshift one would have been fine, but this tool definitely does what it says. I felt very professional testing the dishing on a recent rear wheel rebuild. So, this is a great tool for a beginner like me. My only complaint is that I find adjustment to be somewhat difficult and imprecise. The screw-on gauge makes it hard to make fine adjustments.

This might be an easier tool to use if I built more wheels but it took a good bit of work for me to properly dish -- but tool is good quality and I got there in the end, so ... good purchase.

If you know what this is the odds are you are getting it. Beside a hand built dishing tool this works like a champ. Make sure and store it correctly when not in use. I have some scrapes in the plastic from storage and being dropped that I have had to file down to make it true.

Good quality dishing tool. I use this for personal use but it is well built for commercial shop use as well. I like the adjustable feet that allow adaptation to lots of sizes. I trust park tools for a quality product. Dishing can be easily checked with this tool for wheel adjustments.
