These vitamins for promotion and assist in eye health is a new product that Ive been trying for a few days now. At this time, I am not able to say if I have noticed a change as I havent taken these vitamins for a decent amount of time, but I am able to inform the viewers that the directions say, Take 2 in the morning and 2 in the evening. This will help you determine what bottle vitamin amount, you may want to choose. I hope this information is of value to you, and also will touch basis on if this product is helping the health of my eyes. So, I will stay in touch.

Have used this product for years per instruction of my eye Dr. It has many benefits, and keeps the eyes healthy.

Lets face it. You probably dont need any vitamin. Taking chemicals is no substitute for a balanced diet, as well as useless when you already have a balanced diet. Instead, eat your vegetables, vary your food sources, live long, and prosper. BUT A.R.E.D.S. was an eye study of people facing macular degeneration and it found these chemicals were of some benefit to these people. AREDS 2 found that some of those chemicals werent the source of the benefit and replaced them with others. These pills have exactly those chemicals in them, hence the name AREDS 2...supplement. There are other pills that have these same chemicals as well as others. I would take the position that you should not ingest chemicals (otherwise called vitamins or supplements) apart from a specific need. For instance, the concentrations of Vitamin E (a chemical) in eye vitamins were recently found detrimental to heart health. The whole market for these unregulated chemicals (which vendors prefer to call vitamins and mineral supplements) is premised on them NOT being regulated as drugs. Drugs are chemicals that affect our bodies. There is no difference. These are just unregulated chemicals, and generally there is no guarantee you are even getting what is on the label other than the good reputation of the manufacturer. Bausch & Lomb is a major eye product vendor, so we would hope that these pills are what they claim. They are also now widely available, including here, so its a good choice if you need these drugs. One more note, the best differences found in the studies were still less than 20%, so even in the best case, taking these is about small differences, not a miracle drug. It MIGHT slow the progression of macular degeneration a little bit.

Its hard to judge the efficacy of vitamins... My husband has an eye condition that he has been received ~ 4 years of monthly treatment for which stabilized but did not cure. He started taking Areds ~ 3 years ago based on recommendation from physician, cant hurt, might help? Finally, last month, Dr. reported noticeable improvement. He switched to Areds 2 after it was available about 1-1/2 years ago, formula recently improved with occusorb (which we received in our latest reorder after last drs visit.) Hopefully we will see eventual cure!
