Race Face Chester Pedal

Great grip and light weight. After a couple hundred miles over a month or two I started hearing some crunching in the bearing. When on a remote trail the pedal fell off the spindle and the bearing came out in pieces. Not a durable pedal at all. To be fair, I did have a couple of rock strikes, but nothing terrible. Update: the second set of Chesters failed after 40 miles and zero rock strikes, pedal body again stripped off the spindle as if there was nothing holding it on. I don’t understand. Basically there is a single tiny bearing holding the pedal on the shaft, and all the lateral force is directed through that bearing.

Great pedal for the money

I am a light trail/XC rider, so these fit the bill perfectly. Very difficult to find a pedal set with the right balance of light weight and performance any where near this price point! The Race Face Chester line of products is a great balance of form, function and value.

This is nearly the raceface affect’s equal, and they cost a hundred dollars less. You can’t get a better pedal on the market for the price. They can take a hard ride, and keep spinnin’.

Super gripply, will make you bleed on the trail.

We really like these pedals and have them on another bike. They are light weight and super grippy. However, the manufacturer packaged two left pedals. Now Amazon has all these odd new ways of not taking care of their customers. Even though the order, processing and payment is managed by Amazon they exclude themselves from resolving it other than issue a return. They wont do an in-flight swap or even re-order it pending a return. These are going back and purchasing locally for a few dollars more. My time and frustration is worth a few dollars. Hopefully you would get the correct pedals and good customer service.

I have purchased a few sets of these. They work amazing. I have been a lifelong clipless user, and every time I ride these, I realize how much I enjoy flats as well. Highly recommend. FYI - the wife really likes the pink color - made her bike look more feminine as she claims...

Cool colors, light weight, very rugged, good platform and grip.

These pedals make a world of a difference over my old worn plastic cleat pedals.

Pedal. Hold foot in place while chain spin gear which move wheel. Pedal. Not too expense. Pedal. Not too heavy weight. Pedal. Good for use in city in hybrid bike I commute and joyride and grocery. Pedal. You buy good pedal. Pedal.
