Normally I am firmly in the camp of Pedialyte packs, but a friend turned me on to these and I have been amazed at how dense and light these are to provide hydration when I’m in the backcountry. Flavor is excellent — not too sugary or sweet, definitely not too artificial or synthetic, it’s really “just right”. Sure beats lugging around an entire Gatorade up 2000 ft of elevation gain when you can pop this in chewable form to keep you moving.

Fast chews have been a game changer for me. I used to cramp pretty badly transitioning from biking to running during triathlons. I’m not the best at taking in water based electrolytes but these fast chews change that. They’re great addition to water based electrolytes on super hot days as well.

I am a salt sweater and salt stick has been the most effective fueling strategy for me during marathon training and during my marathon race. Its especially helpful on those hot summer days. The lemon lime is my favorite flavor!

I first found out about SaltStick fast chews on Instagram, they sounded interesting…but it wasn’t until I had a super bad long run, I didn’t plan my hydration and when I hit mile 13 I started cramping so hard. It was an awful last 2 miles left to my car. I got home and immediately bought these. I have used them religiously since and never had the cramping again! It helps they also taste delicious! They taste great, & are easy to chew. I love that I can keep them by the bed so I don’t have to go to the kitchen to mix up something and chug it down. I know I’ll end up using them other times too!

The taste of the peach flavor reminds me of a salty version of sour peach gummies. The consistency is more like the large size sweet tarts...dry and a bit powdery. I tolerate these better than gatorade, and can drink water shortly after. They do not upset my stomach like salt tabs sometimes do. I often feel better after only a few minutes. I tried them in the heat today and they worked well.
