Greater than one weekThese are great, you should have one on hand for your camping medical bag or even at home. Stabilizing a fracture is important to prevent further tissue damage and also helps with pain. The SAM splint is easy to use and versatile so a must have for my medical kits. Much better than using a tree limb or flimsy cardboard.

Greater than one weekI learned about this versatile splint in a wilderness first aide course and decided to add it to our kit that we keep on hand in our rural area and for hiking and camping trips. It is lightweight. While it does take some space in a pack, it can be stowed as a roll or flat/form fitting in available space. Basic instructions are printed on the splint itself. The company website (http://www.sammedical.com/sam_splint.html) has complete instructions and links to YouTube videos demonstrating the splints use in various situations. That said, hope I never have to use it!

Greater than one weekWorks pretty well. You can form it to the limb and create a few different splint techniques. Rolls up fairly compact. Keep some extra tape or paracord to keep it in position. Should work well, if the situation calls for it.

> 3 dayCan never go wrong with SAM Splints. They work great for broken bones, stabilizing limbs, and working as a makeshit neckbrace. Amazing piece of equipment for first aid/BLS/ALS kits.
