SAM Rolled Splint 36, Orange/Blue

While I have yet to use one seriously, practice with the SAM splint has shown it to be a nice upgrade to a FAK. Good directions, easy to manipulate, rigid enough when properly used, compact, and comfortable. I carry one with me while backpacking or back country skiing, and feel its worthwhile.

This is a light packable splint for emergencies. I keep a roll in my emergency response bag for CERT community emergency response team. Nice to know in a pinch you dont have to use 2X4s or sticks but something made for the purpose.

This is a reusable splint that feels very sturdy, due to the metal strip inside the orange foam, which can be molded around the area you are splinting. It comes with directions on the outside of the foam, and you are able to practice splinting, sanitize the splint, and then roll it back up again for storage.

Using this to stock a portable First Aid Kit (small EMT bag) that can go to The Office, The Barn, soccer games, picnics-everywhere. I like knowing that if Im home or out being active, I can send someone to get the First Aid Kit-its pretty well stocked for all types of emergencies, until medical help arrives, if need be. This SAM Splint will be a great addition. I hope I never need to use this.

Appears to be of good quality so I added to my kit. Will report back later if I actually use it.

Have no used this yet and hope not to because its in our Emergency Kit. Its exactly what I expected and should work well if ever needed.
