Greater than one weekUpgraded an 11yr old lenovo desktop. Data migration failed 3 times until I defragged the hard drive...then success. Boots up in seconds. Also upgraded a 6 yr old lenovo laptop with excellent results.

> 3 dayI bought this drive to use mainly as external storage since I use nvme hard drives for my main drive. Not as fast as other drives but still better than the older disc drives. Since I only want them for storage it is more than good enough. It is good as a secondary drive for storage but use a nvme for your Windows and programs instead.

> 3 dayThis 500GB 870 EVO SSD was purchased on May 10th, 2021, now on April 24th the drive has failed completely. No files show up on the drive and it is not recognized by Windows Drive management or when attached to my Linux computer. The drive is now completely useless. I thought at $64.99 this was a good purchase that would serve my computer for several years. It worked very well, just not for long. apparently Samsung offers no warranty for this drive. I have had several EVO drives in the past, but this one was a real loser.

> 3 dayThe SSD works great. Comes barebones, just the drive and a small paper booklet, no mounting screws, no usb-to-sata cable, but if you know how to replace a drive, you probably have all this stuff lying around anyway. Just know that youll need at least that cable if you wanna clone your drive. Im sure youve read enough of those before-and-after stories, so Ill just say that its much lighter, quieter, and faster than my old solid state hybrid drive.

Greater than one weekNice to have a large SSD but be aware; sustained write speeds drop from around 465mbps to 160mbs after 2 minutes. Avoid this if you are looking to move large files quickly.
