    I bought the drive as a computer disk drive backup, but it is apparently intended as a backup for phones rather than computers.

    Samsung has gotten over the incredible blunder of years ago and now is a reputable and reliable supplier. This external SSD is an excellent product, but having to get a password is a real pain. It means another thing to lose, and represents the loss of your data. You now have two things to store securely - the drive, and the password. Losing either one means losing your data. Reformatting to NTFS eliminates this problem, and instead of having to store the password securely, you only have to store the drive in a secure place. That is highly preferable, since you know exactly what you have stored and are guaranteed that you can recover it.

    Me gusto que el empaque protege bien al articulo y yo lo compre para hacer respaldo de mi Mac y funciono a la perfección, incluso me dejo usarlo como Timemachine, la velocidad de escritura es muy rápida y trato de no dejarlo conectado por que si se caliente bastante.

    I use it for my Model Y dash am and sentry recordings. I have hooked it up in the dashboard. It doesn’t get hot unlike other SSDs sold here on Amazon.

    The first unit I ordered arrived with the drine and 2 cables wrapped in bubble wrap. No manufacturer’s box. I returned it. The replacement cane in a box alright but the seal was broken and a piece of Scotch tape used to close it. The box was OBVIOUSLY used with signs of wear. The unit itself had a sticker on the back which I doubt was put there by Samsung. Will return it again, this time for a refund!
