> 3 dayI am having bad luck with this set of Flash drives. I purchased a set of 5 SanDisk 16GB Ultra USB 3.0 flash drives and so far 2 have failed me. I have a 2010 Macbook Pro (USB 2.0) that I connected the drives and copied files to. On 2 separate occasions I copied files to these drives and then ejected them. When I tried to connect them back to my laptop to verify the files, they failed to mount to my computer. I now have 2 pieces that will not mount to my macbook pro or my iMac. I havent tried them on any other computers. 2 out of 5 drives from this set have failed, 2 I gave to clients with recorded audio files (they worked when I handed them over to client) and the last one I still have and it is currently working. Its a mystery so I will avoid these next time.

> 3 dayFrom doing research, this is a common problem with this size and type of sandisk drive. Drive detects error and makes itself read only to prevent user from continuing to use drive and having drive fail with additional data. Source: Sandisk Support forum.

> 3 dayThis is definitely a 3.0 drive, it is very fast HOWEVER it get VERY VERY hot, I did not measure it but I would say it is running about 130 degrees F. Makes you want to jerk your finger off of it when you unplug it.

> 3 dayThis USB drive is, in absolute dollar terms, inexpensive. And, it does what it says it does. And, it’s a lot ‘cheaper’ than other similar drives. The complaint I have is that this sized drive could EASILY hold 1TB of information … heck iPhones have 1TB of storage on SSD’s not much larger than this drive. It’s really a choice the manufacturer makes to reduce the capacity of the drive for marketing, not functional, purposes. One day a smart manufacturer will come along and actually adopt a policy to give excellent value … exchange over and above what is expected … instead of manipulating the customer by marketing.

> 3 dayNot bad at all for the price. All worked fine. Appear to be authentic SanDisk, too. I like the embedded small blue LED indicator light that is beneath the thumb slide. It actually breathes while the drive is plugged in letting you know it is working. Not too bright, either. Very light-weight, so it easily fit on my key chain without weighing it down. Not sure how sturdy these are, though. If you are looking for something more indistructible, look elsewhere. But for my needs, these are fine. And I like the included encryption program on each of these that makes it simple to store sensitive files. Only two lanyards are included with these, though. Would have been nice to include five, but I probably wouldnt use most of them, anyhow.
