I have been hooked on Seachem Stability for a long time but put it to the test when we moved from Utah to Mississippi. I wanted to setup my 9 aquariums as soon as possible so as soon as this was done I started to Use Stability plus a dose of Seachem Prime every 48 hours. I immediately started stocking the tanks with fish, everything from Flowerhorns to a large variety of Cichlids, Plekos,Severums, Parrot Flowerhorns and Blue Dolphins. I have not had even one loss during the cycling, I believe its critical to use Prime in conjunction with Stability, and I have a Pearl Flowerhorn coming in soon that I will cycle exactly the same in a 55 gallon bowfront that I just set up today. Kudos to Seachem for another great well researched product.

I’ve heard that BB starters are a waste of money, but here’s my experience. I started a new tank, fish in, and was pretty religious with the stability and the tank basically cycled in two weeks(I use api master kit to test and record my levels, I had nitrates and the ammonia and nitrites were stabilizing) . I made the mistake of removing the HOB filter and replacing with a sponge filter too soon, I thought the bb was built up enough. Completely crashed my cycle and had to start over. So I thought at this point it would build up on its own pretty fast, wasnt using stability during this time, wasnt even testing, just adding enough prime to make sure the fish were good, finally a week and a half later I test again, nitrites and nitrates are still at zero… Needless to say I’ll be adding stability everyday religiously till I see nitrites come online. Learn from my mistakes. Establishing a tank is such a pain, and in my experience this product does speed up that process.

It works. I usually do the whole wait 1-3 week deal before even attempting to add fish. But I decided to try this product because I was in a hurry and it works. I fully tore down my tank and re-landscaped the entire aquarium AND made sure my water parameters were within freshwater normal range (GH, KH, pH, ect). I didnt clean the gravel because I wanted to at least keep some of the good bacteria in the tank somehow. I bought two cheap rosy reds within 24 hours of setting up my tank, and theyre still alive but they could be in better shape. The product works but the fish are definitely not 100% happy even if my water parameters are fine. I wouldnt recommend starting a new tank and using this product with delicate/sensitive fish like discus... I will stick to waiting at least 1-3 weeks before adding fish, like I used to. The product works, it just seems a little risky if youre going to buy expensive fish to start a new tank.

I have STRUGGLED with new tank syndrome in the past, even after cycling the tank for a month before introducing new fish. I finally decided to take a different approach and order this product. I went with Seachem because I have had great success using their Prime solution to dechlorinate the tank, and Im so glad I did! My water parameters have been on point! The second thing I LOVE about this product is, my water is finally CRYSTAL CLEAR! I know I sound overly excited about this review, but if youre an aquarium enthusiast, you know how frustrating these things can be. Ive tried everything from adding carbon filters, using Water Clear products (to no avail), even adding additional filtration to the tank, and NOTHING seemed to work as well as I wanted it to...until now! Id highly recommend this product.

I have read a lot of the reviews of problems people have had, while I dont agree with the claim of instant bio filter as in my 30+ years I have never seen or found any product that will actually create a full, stable cycle, only time and the miracles of nature, I do not believe any cycle that is rushed is stable enough to handle what is thrown at it! I do think Seachem would be wise to change that! There really is no shortcut to a proper cycled tank that could take up to 6 weeks! This stuff is really for the routine maintenance that it is more suited for like filter maintenance or gravel vacs anywhere or anytime you might loose Benifical Bacteria. I only use this during those times on my 90,135 & 220 gallon tanks and have had zero issues others have claimed which tells me there lack of understanding of the nitrogen cycle or what the product can really do! This product will no way cycle your tank it may help but too many factors contribute to a completed cycle. What this will do is help during routine maintenance to replace loss of BB as well as it could aid in any small spikes. I also will not deduct stars for bottles leaking and or damaged as others have done (guess they dont understand product reviews? If Seachem shipped then different story), as that has zero to do with the results of the product

It works. Used it to start a brand new fluval edge 12 gal with sand substrate. Water treated with Prime, added a handful of live plants and started the 7 day dosing. On day 2 added a handful of tetras and a couple cories. Add a few more after 7 days. Throughout the 7-day period, and over the 5 months since, I NEVER detected ammonia or nitrites (0ppm) and have seen low nitrates (~10 ppm) using API kits (both test tubes & strips, repeatedly as I had a hard time believing the results). Virtually instant cycling, which I did not think was possible but I now attribute to using this product in conjunction with LIVE PLANTS, which gobble up ammonia and nitrates. Cant stress enough how much better a planted aquarium is for maintaining water quality and healthy fish. Ditch those plastic plants, try a few of the more common aquatic plants until you find ones that do well in your particular setup. Yes its a bit more work --- I follow a regular dosing schedule using Seachem Excel (no CO2 injection) and Seachem Fertilizers (Flourish, Nitrogen, Potassium, Phosphorous) and have beautiful thriving plants and healthy fish (and now shrimp, too)

My tank would not cycle until I quit using Prime, which makes sense if you think about it. If it ties up the nitrites and nitrates then what are the newly forming bacteria going to consume? It took eight weeks and multiple manufactures of this type of product including this one here to cycle my 75. At the time my tank cycled I was using Foster and Smith bacteria, but Im sure this is a good product and would have worked if I had not used Prime. Maybe my tank was about to cycle when I quit using Prime, I will never know... P.S. I use Prime and Safe on all my cycled tanks
