    I had purchased the Sensor Push before the wifi Gateway came out. Now by wifi i can see the temperature in my freezer, when I am away from home.

    We have had a gateway and sensors for a couple years which have worked great. Not only reliable but I like I can see a chart of temp history. The only problem is during RV trips we take the system along for RV use. We have a pet and want to get back should the RV A/C go out or something. The problem was, we could not monitor our home temp should say the heat go off in winter. I was wondering if it was possible to monitor two systems so sent a message to SensorPush tech and had an answer well within 24 hours. All is go and will be soon trying it out. Oh, also like the availability of water proof sensors now for outdoor use with RV.

    I have two of these, one in each server room along with two SensorPush sensors so I can now remotely monitor and receive alerts when my server room temp or humidity exeeds a threshold from anywhere worldwide with the SensorPush App. While they do the job of enabling remote internet connectivity to the sensors, I do wish there were more troubleshooting options or information about the units themselves. As it stands, the unit is pretty much like a black box so unless your running a packet sniffer or monitoring your firewall traffic theres no way to determine what the unit is actually transmitting (as another reviewer mentioned). Also, if for some reason you cant add the device to the app, you wouldnt easily be able to determine if the unit is defective or has has an IP address or what the hostname of the device is. Theres no ethernet link LED to indicate if theres any activity or if the port is even working only a blue LED on the front of the unit when its receiving power. From what Ive gathered from our switch and DHCP server, both of my units have the EXACT SAME MAC address, although the host name is different (begins with android-). A lookup against the first six digits of the MAC address (001518) shows that the device is manufactured by Shenzhen 10MOONS Technology Development CO.,Ltd. I think having a duplicate MAC address will cause problems if you had more than one of these devices on the same network and you were trying to reserve an IP address for it. I didnt see any traffic between the two units and China, but there is outbound traffic from it to Amazons cloud services, but maybe traffic to China or wherever is periodic rather than continuous and I just didnt log enough traffic. For me, I wasnt able to add the gateway to the SensorPush app using either a Samsung Galaxy S7 or a Nexus 6p running three different minor versions of Android OS 7.1 to 7.1.2 with the most current version of the app, but had no issues with an iOS device. Connectivity with the app to your device for registration requires that it supports WiFi Direct. So f your device doesnt support WiFi direct or just fails to add the gateway (keeps toggling your wifi on and off) and you dont have access to an iOS device then there are NO OTHER options to associate the gateway with your account for the initial configuration; no web UI, no CLI via telnet or SSH, no bluetooth, no 2D barcodes or other manual methods (maybe ADB since its Android based?). If its the first gateway youre trying to add, you wont even be able to create an account in the app as gateway registration is a pre-requisite for account creation. SensorPush support (email only) is very responsive to issues and product enhancement requests/suggestions but its still a bit of hassle that it doesnt work as easily as you would expect and alternate troubleshooting steps arent documented on the SensorPush website.

    I purchased 20 sensors and 4 of the G1 hubs and have waited until owning them for over 6 months to be sure to have a fair review and not just a first impression. I think there is some confusion on how these work. The sensors connect to the hub via blue tooth and then the hubs are connected to your home network either via Wi-Fi or direct Ethernet connection. I use the later direct wired method since my house has wired networking throughout it. The 20 sensors scattered around my house all have no problem staying connected to the closest gateway. Even after a power failure they immediately upload all their data (the sensors keep collecting since they have batteries). I did have to move one that is outside a little closer, but that is no fault of the gateway. I even have a sensor in my truck that continually collects data and then transmits it via the gateway when I get home and pull into my garage.

    I deer hunt and hate to see meat go to waste.. Last year my GFI popped at the house and I lost three deer, turkey, and two wild hogs. I purchased this unit and it has already saved my items twice. Once due to power outage and the other to my son leaving the freezer door open in the garage. Works like a charm. It sends updates to my cell phone for peace of mind.
