17-04-2025This SK Hynix P41 Gen 4 NVMe delivers! I benchmarked at 7.3GB/s READ and 6.6GB/s WRITE. Its even faster than my older Gen 3 NVMes in Raid 0 (4.2GB/s READ, 5.9 GB/s WRITE). System is Ryzen 9 5900X and Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Impact. There was no issue with going from Gen 3 RAID 0 to mixed Gen 4 + Gen 3 non-RAID NVMes on this boards SO-DIMM slot. It took about 1.5 hours to clone the OS from RAID drives to a SATA SSD and the same amount to clone back to this P41 NVMe. As others have mentioned, this Gen 4 drive runs hotter than the Gen 3 drive. Im seeing around 46C at low usage, while it can ramp up to 55C on high usage. My Gen 3 drive runs idle at 28C and ramps up to 40C. Also, Im happy this is a single-sided NVMe as my older Gen 3 drives were double-sided. Overall, its a killer deal at $170 from the Black Friday sale.

> 3 dayThis drive is fast, very fast, but i would not recommend it if your using it for a laptop. I had to upgrade the wd pcie 4.0 nvme drive that came in an hp laptop i just bought because i filled the old one up almost immediately. One of my main criteria was efficiency as the battery life in the laptop is abismal to say the least. After reading expert reviews and tests online all saying this drive is fast and very efficient i jumped at it when i saw it for a decent price. I also have experience with ak hunix drives as i have their s31 sata drive in a desktop n i love it. Cloning the old drive over was a snap, sk hynix gives u an sk hynix version of macrium that works very well. I plopped this thing in and immediately noticed it was fast moving a 16gb file at 2000mbps where i only managed 950 with the old wd drive on the same file. But then i noticed my battery seemed to be draining at a quicker rate. To verify i let it die and charged it up completely before turning it back on and letting it sit idle until it died to see what kind of battery life i got on idle. Sure enough i went from an alteady terrible 6 hours on idle with the wd drive to an even worse 4 hours with the p41 in it. When i used the thing it was like it was sipping battery through a straw giving me 1 n a half to 2 hours. I also noticed it ran hot, sitting around 41-46 degrees c most of the time. Needless to say i didnt keep this drive in the computer, instead opting to buy a 1tb samsung 980 pro(alittle slower but runs cooler and doesnt eat the battery so fast) and i kept this one as a backup. Hopefully they fix some of these issues with firmware updates in the future because it really is a nice drive. Unfortunately for right now if your trying to get a nvme drive for a desktop computer, this one is highly recommended. But if ur trying to get it for a laptop, i say stay away and opt for something else unless u dont mind trading battery life for the speed it delivers. In that case have at it

> 3 dayActually getting those advertised speeds on this drive is killer. The system is snappy and crisp! I dont know if its because the drive is paired with the 32gb sk hynix m die ram (wish I could have gotten a die 64gb kit) that its really responsive but, Im super pleased with this drive. Should have went with a 2tb instead of the 1tb is the only downside for me, definitely recommend.

> 3 dayUpgrading from 850 Western Digital 850s SSDs. These drives equal the Samsung 990 pro at a better price point and are fast . .

> 3 dayThis p41 is the fastest ssd nvme in Korea. Few youtuber tested samsung 980 ssd nvme vs p41. The winner is p41. Hynix P41 is fastest ssd in the world.
