I got this flashlight for my husband’s birthday last September. It works great but the batteries don’t even last a day. Not sure if there is something wrong with te flashlight but we only use it for camping. If we put new batteries in the morning, they need to be replaced at night. I’m very confused by the reviews stating great battery life because our flashlight goes through several batteries in one camping weekend which makes it very expensive. The flashlight is great, but needs new batteries way too often.

Ive used multiple Streamlight products for years at work, theyre just top-notch in my opinion. Never had an issue and work as they should each and every time. Quality of Streamlight products are superb and built to last for years of heavy duty usages. Purchased the Protac HL-X and 1000 lumens are bright enough for any situations you might be in.

It is a bright light for sure. It will light up by fence which is 500 yards away. Switch is too busy and sometimes you have to bang light to say on. It needs a way to focus light beam.. It lights up too much of area Im standing in. Still shopping for a bright flashlight with ON/OFF switch and a beam that can be focused or concentrated on far away object. I hated to give it a 3 because the light is crazy bright but gave it a 4.

The flashlight was bright, useful with the focus feature and the blacklight. However, the durability and workmanship of the on/off switch makes this product a one star. I continuously have to remove all the parts to place this switch back into operational status... and after a few presses of the button, it stops working again. Rinse and repeat too often. Other flashlights have a better operational switch than this one. When I need it... it fails.

This is my third flashlight from them and is by far the best light I’ve owned very bright when you need it but haveing the ability to go to low mode is just great. I use this light every day. Great product as always.

Ive bought 4-5 of the 750 lumen Protac HL flashlights and given them away as gifts except one that my wife keeps. I needed to order a flashlight for myself and came across the HL-X w/ 1000 lumen. Ordered one to try then maybe a second to replace my wifes 750 lumen. I fired the flashlight up and was not impressed. The brightness is barely brighter than the 750 lumen HL. Side my side the new HL-X and the old HL are exactly the same brightness but the HL-X has a slightly more defined spill border (where the light ends and darkness meets is clear and not faded). Thats it. The body of the flashlight is the same as an HL, the brightness is the same as an HL, but the clip is screwed onto the frame with the HL-X but the problem is, the clip is folded in a spot were it gets in the way of removing the tail cap. The clip is weak - it wiggles easily on your pockets. It is supposed to be a dual-sided clip, but to try to make the baseball cap clip-on users happy, they ruin it for everyone else. You can get the exact same out of buying the HL and get a tighter clip. tl;dr - Protac HL 750 is practically the same as the HL-X 1000 but the HL 750 costs a little less, has a wider light spill, and a better clip. Its not 1000 lumen - more like 800. UPDATE - Sent back for a replacement. Received the replacement - the new HL-X I received is maybe 50 lumens brighter. This is tested in pitch black outside a city in the country. I am very disappointed in the HL-X, and the clip is extremely weak and gets in the way of removing/replacing the endcap. It looks and feels like a Protac HL 750.

Absolutely amazing flashlight sucks that you have to buy rechargable batteries for it to really get its full usage. the battery life is pretty dreadful
