> 3 dayThis is a must have for any photographer if you have a tethered setup. If you dont you will damage your USB port eventually. It is also perfect companion for any USB capable device.

> 3 dayFor the camera end of a tether cable, this seems to be the perfect solution to keep from damaging the camera connector, yet there is an easy squeeze type connector in it to easily remove the cable when shooting is done. I am less impressed with the restraining device for the computer end USB connector. You plug the USB connector into an open USB port and then plug the addached dummy connector into an adjacent unused USB port. It doesnt snap in. It just seems to divide the sudden tug into two adjacent USB ports. Unfortunately for me, I already have a needed accessory plugged into the adjacent USB port, so this is useless for me. I dont think much of it anyway. I guess Ill be securing my tether cable to the table leg with a Velcro Strap.

04-04-2025Works great and the only solid way to keep your tether in when shooting hand held. I also purchased the 15ft tether which is solid and modern orange which matches my brand.

> 3 dayPurchased this a couple of years ago (on advice from instructor on tethering) with my Tether Tools USB cable. Used my cable a lot in a studio class at the college this semester. One of the separation connectors (cable side) came off and disappeared. It was definitely not pulled out in use as it was not in the other half connected to my camera body. I am not sure if this is a common problem, because it appears to have separated from how they glued / melted the attachment to the plastic cable clamp. I was reminded by customer support that it has a 90 day warranty and there isnt anything they can do for me. If it had saved my USB port from a accidental cable pull, I would have no complaints. Im just not sure its worth another $20 to replace it. A loop in the cable and strapped to your tripod with a velcro strap could work just as well although not quite as elegant..

Greater than one weekI can not remove the 3m backing on the product without tearing off the who backing. My guess is that these sat in the heat somewhere and the adhesive broke sound and actually adhered to the backing. The idea is solid, just beware this could be a problem.

> 3 dayIt just seems kind of pointless. Really does not relieve tension like you need it to. It just kind of prevents cord from falling if it gets disconnected. Not really the point in my opinion, it’s suppose to prevent the cord from bending and breaking. Who knows maybe I’m the fool, but it does nothing.
